Looked better later in the year when the running game made adjustments to move linemen to run outside to mix it up from inside run game. Helped Trig tremendously.

Part of the 1200 yards was dependent on catching passes thrown to them. Can’t get yards dropping balls.

Other than losing Dozier, I’m looking forward to seeing fresh blood in the WR room. The lack of WR focus was endemic and we saw zero improvement as the season progressed.

Not to mention Dozier and MBake both missed significant time to injury.

Interesting comments from another father of a player. And some more comments from an ex player/alumni I believe who seems to be in the know.

That’s 2 outspoken parents as of late. Hmmm
A parent/recruit would have to be pretty gullible to accept on faith a sales pitch any college football coach has to offer. That’s on them if they thought App would have three 1,200-yard receivers with a couple of 1,000-yard ball carriers.
A college assistant once told me you tell recruits whatever you have to if you want them to commit. It sounds bad until you realize every other coach is doing the same thing.

I doubt that any player thought he was making the same promise to everyone. Each probably thought they would be the featured guy without realizing that the same promise was made to others. But your point remains the same, be careful of recruiting promises, they often don't pan out for one reason or another.

So…I’ll roll a grenade in here: is money the only reason all these players are bailing? Or is it possible other issues are at play, as the parent comments on X would suggest?

But, are these disgruntled parents as little Johnny did not get playing time, certain number of catches, etc.
I only know what I viewed on TV. 60+ players showed up and appeared to give their all for 60 minutes.

Some might be getting immediate offers, but i think more is an inflated sense of ability that is driving to Think they will get a b8g bag somewhere. What many dont get is that getting 50k here or 100k there will go up in smoke after their family gets their share and they buy themselves a car etc. Its not life changing money in the modern usa and they will find this out the hard way. What is life changing is getting a 4 year degree and having a real life plan past college since even if you make the NFL you are out within 3 years or less on average.

That, and these kids and parents have now been handed hundreds of trophies from 4-18 so they expect play time because they were the map of their 2A high school team and had their picture in the news paper. If you're gonna be Levar Ball, make sure you check with 3rd party sources to see if your kids abilities can back up your ego.

I'm leaning towards agents driving these things. They're getting nothing to little now, so they convince them to jump in the portal and cash in for all they're worth in order to make a dime for themselves. 99.9% of these agents don't give a crap about the players.

The majority are not financially motivated. Several don’t like the coach. That’s fine, they didn’t commit to play for Loggains out of high school.
Several are looking for playing time elsewhere. Alexander is a good example of this. He likely is 3rd string behind Lewis and Roberts and wants an opportunity to compete sooner.
Several were asked to leave. Several were told they could stay but likely wouldn’t see the field. Several are just walk ons anyways.

I have no idea how good his son is but that weirdly stings.
