No plan? Just two rushed three pointers?

Rushed a 3.

Good effort but can’t lose to bad teams at home.

Bad shot, down two and can tie with a two and momentum going to OT. Hail Mary guarded from woy outside ? That is a shot you take with under 5 seconds, not at that point in the game.

Again, we keep saying we can't lose to a bad team, but we are one of those bad teams based on these consistent results. Hope we can change something to find a new path.

That is a pisser of a game to lose. Most college bball teams can play good for a half…. that’s what ODU did today. They smoking from 3 in first half… like 50% . I really wish we did a better job of playing 3 defense in the 2nd half. Dodd is a beast.. I remember people on here saying I thought Dodd would be a 6 man. He may be the best guard in the SunBelt. Also thought Kerns did a heck of a job in the last minute plus. It was a winnable game. I thought when the score was where we were down by two that the first option should have been for Dodd to take it inside. We would be saying something different if we had hit that three. ODU has good talent despite several close losses.

I always exclude the non D1 games when judging our seasons, so we are essentially 9-9 with zero consistency except we consistently lose to much better teams.

I can’t complain though, I don’t donate to basketball NIL, so I can’t have expectations higher than mediocre.

Dodd absolutely has improved. Been one of our best players. We’re essentially running a 7 man rotation now as it seems Clarke Njock and Brim are out of the rotation. Hopefully we don’t get worn out down the stretch.
Great 2nd half effort but we were asleep in all facets the 1st half.

Appreciate the fight in the 2nd half but this team is consistently inconsistent. We really are a typical.500 club.

Player development is what I feel Kerns and staff have been excellent at during their tenure. Dodd and Wilson are current examples. Huntley, Gregory, and Delph are other players that made huge strides during their time at App, all of whom are making money playing bball. Of course it takes lots of work from the players, but the staff has to put the training/teaching in place. I hope we can keep some of the younger guys in Boone to see more of this development.

I think inconsistency is the name of the game in the portal era… much like football. That is where we are. It takes 8-10 games to find your rotation… when you have such roster fluctuation. Probably as we approach mid to late season you will see more consistency… that’s is unless we have several injuries.

We are capable of both beating anyone in the Sun Belt and also of losing to every team in the Sun Belt. They just have to figure it out by March. Watching them play now, even with the losses, they are much improved since November. If they keep improving, maybe they can make a run in the tournament.

As of now, Banks is the 6th man and Moodie in to spell Wilson/Marcus. Clarke will get 5-8 minutes usually. Njock and Brim may get minutes depending on situation, but think you are right about primarily a 7 man rotation. We’d probably only do 6 if all our guys had super endurance and stayed out of foul trouble.
