It was first place I purchased beer as a student in Boone. Back then you could legally purchase it at the ripe ole age of 18. I picked up a "Coors Backs The Apps" bumper sticker there too. I couldn't afford Coors beer but I could afford free swag.

Coming up from Wilkesboro, we always stopped at Husky’s to beer up. Then they built the new Hwy 421 and by-passed Huskey’s and pretty much put them out of business. The progress of man.

Always baffled me why no one ever thought to open a Brew-Thru in Wilkesboro or Lenoir back then. Place would’ve killed it.
