Crazy. Troy is one of the last 6 teams standing in D1 baseball. 6 of 300ish teams

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
They’ve been on a tear. I’ll have to go back and look at their path, but beating Florida twice and Ole Miss is tough to do.
And they made a deep run in the SBC.
Caught fire at the right time.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Just goes to show that DiRito and Peterson can compete and beat just about anyone.
I’d feel comfortable with those 2 against all teams except Georgia and Miss State.

After this weekend, I have come around to your way of thinking about scheduling tougher. Troy seems unfazed by the level of competition.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
I'm betting the SEC will start doing like they do in football and start squeezing Troy and others out of their schedule to prevent this from continuing to happen.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2026 7:16 amAfter this weekend, I have come around to your way of thinking about scheduling tougher. Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
I doubt it. Strength of schedule is too important in the way they pick teams for the college baseball tournament. A loss to a good team looks better than a win against a bad team most times. Georgia had losses to Troy, Western, Kennesaw State, and Wright State and it didn’t affect their postseason placement much at all.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2026 7:26 amI'm betting the SEC will start doing like they do in football and start squeezing Troy and others out of their schedule to prevent this from continuing to happen.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2026 7:16 amAfter this weekend, I have come around to your way of thinking about scheduling tougher. Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Agreed here. The SEC is so difficult that I don't think the committee weighs the midweeks much unless you're "on the bubble". If you dominate conference like Georgia did, it doesn't matter who they played/lost to in the midweeks. I mean, they beat Miss State 6 times in 1 season...and I thought losing to Stink twice in football was bad. I don't see much midweek scheduling change for major P4 teams. Have to play someone! Hope we land on some of those schedules next year as we've proven we're a solid ball club.MrCraig wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2026 8:43 amI doubt it. Trademark that, put it on a shirt, and sell it at Baseball games. Get some App branding on it. I’d buy it!
Instead of “wild thing 99”….

WV up 2-0 still in the top of 3rd with 2nd and 3rd, 2 out. Last run was on WP.
Edit: Troy got out of the inning just down the 2.
