I talked to her about him transferring, she said they basically kicked him off the UNC team (gave his spot to someone else), guess she had talk to him during last semester.

In today's Portal world, he got the call to go into the portal a couple of days before it closed. He fully expected to go back to UNC next season before he got called in late June.

I’m sure he’s a good kid my daughter hasn’t ever spoke bad about him. But must have not heard something correct about his spot on the team.

They brought in some transfers and were going to be over the limit. It happens a lot at the P4 level. No loyalty on either side anymore.

Sorry, I typed that too fast. I didn't mean to direct that at your daughter. The Transfer Portal world is a crazy one and there are many players who are directed to the portal. This kid fully expected to be back in Chapel Hill next season. It wasn't until the CWS ended that he got the call to go into the portal. With some development and hard work, he can contribute to the Diamond Apps.

Construction work has started on the baseball indoor expansion.

No clue about timelines but hopefully we can complete a 4,000 SF expansion by February. Really wish we could have it by the fall but we will see.
Maybe Sofield will get C.O'd by September 1 for use.

Anyone have timelines on these two projects?

My understanding of the new Sofield Center is that the playing surface will be available for use when the football team needs it (Aug. 1 or perhaps Sept. 1. Not sure). The rest of the facility will take longer to finish. Not sure how that squares with a Certificate of Occupancy.
