Amen to that! Christmas Vacation is by far my favorite Christmas movie ever. Just watched Vegas vacation for the first time ever last night. Not great, but not terrible either. "Good evening Mr. Papagiorgio."

I’m always intrigued by “the numbers”. As far as players go, on average each year, how many are really considered premier level talent? I wonder about this % mainly in terms of portal movement. I’ve heard that perhaps 40% of the players who enter the portal each year never land at a new school. Obviously the loss of roster continuity is killer for us and most schools at our level. The big boys have always simply reloaded and that won’t ever change. We talk about losing talented players each year but has anyone really analyzed that? We have had a few guys “move up” so to speak for the money but over the past several seasons how many former App guys have gone P4 and actually played? Again, the constant roster turnover is terrible but are we really losing a massive amount of talent? Are we, for the most part just swapping for the same guys?

It was my dad's and mine favorite movie and not just Christmas movie. Annoyed my mom. Now it annoys my wife, she thinks its dumb and too old. She hasn't watched all of it ever.

Don’t forget about Vegas Vacation!

After The Hangover, Vegas Vacation has been lost in my vault.

That’s fair. I went to Vegas and thought I had it out of my system. Then the Hangover came out and my desire to return to Sin City was initiated.

I do believe that the problem the elite programs are having is that the players they were sitting on are now moving to other schools just to play not a bigger payday. The programs that cry the most are the ones that are having the most trouble winning with the new system that were winning with the old system.

Have you looked at the preseason top 25? It’s literally all the usual elite programs at the top. I know it’s a subjective poll but the playoffs will still be filled with alot of those schools. these kids aren’t suddenly leaving schools for the love of the game. Everyone is throwing money around. What you are seeing here and there are other schools getting a huge donation so they can buy better players.
You actually are looking at it completely opposite. Different sport but look at every decent big man we have in basketball that gets gobbled up by a bigger program as soon as that check book comes out. I think some fringe players on the elite programs aren’t getting the money they want or a being told there’s not a place for them. So they look downward for a place to land.
