Re: Recruiting, 2014
lol I'll be the first to tell you we can't beat Firemoose at what he does we can only try to keep up. He's the best around no doubt. What we CAN try to do is be the best at interviews and utilize the 247 profile system to keep track of offers/visits/timelines/crystal balls in a cool format. As credentialed media I get an inbox full of messages from recruits everyday and we have direct contact with App State, coaches, and players whenever we want. We're trying to win the interview game and throw in game previews/recaps as a bonus. If you want the latest offers/visits stuff like that, it's basically the same with App State as it is with any other school. You can find that stuff for free. In App's case it's here for sure.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
I agree Hap. 247 has had three articles in which they have interviewed potential recruits. They also do a great job previewing and summarizing each football and basketball game.
Moose and 247 are game changers when it comes to news for those of us starving for App news.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Thanks guys. I hate to tell you but I only do it for the money.
Seriously I think John, Mike, and I work well together. 247 has some of the best databases I've seen and, as they've said, they get the interviews and information shared through the 247 network. They work within their network and I get to work all the sites digging for info. 78' does a great job also as do some of the fans on here who share tips and nuggets they pick up. The best part is we share the info back and forth so it's the best of both worlds. Sometimes I find something 247 hasn't heard yet and I let them know so they can use the resources they have to confirm or build upon it. And I use info from them to help me build our pages. I can give you the basics, with my opinion thrown in for flavor. They give you the in depth info that is always available on a profile page in addition to the interviews and articles. Plus I also, along with 78', hap, 66' and others on this site try and give you information on the other sports, from baseball to wrestling and everything in between. Personally I think it's like I said, the best of both worlds. Together we're going to give everybody the best possible coverage of recruiting that can be given for App fans.
It's been great getting to know John and Mike. I look forward to working with them for a long time. Between there and here we've got you covered. Check them out. I know you'll like what you see.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Reports are that App visited OL Richardson Eugene (6′ 6″ 270) of Carol City High School in Miami, FL yesterday. I have added him to the Considering section on the Main Page and I'll link his hudl highlights below. I know his highlights show Eugene Richardson and even MaxPreps has him listed both ways, one for football and one for basketball. John was able to contact him and it appears he's hearing mostly from JUCO's at the moment. Probably talked PWO or WO since we've pretty much locked up the OL commits for this year. We'll keep you updated.

Project player. Size is a quality all it's own but he's going to need work if he comes here. Might not see him for two years if at all but if he does walk on he's shirted for sure.mtnjax wrote:has good size for sure, but man he looks like needs a good amount of coaching. especially in pass blocking technique

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Reports are DB/WR D. J. Sanders (6′ 1″ 190) of Washington County High School in Sandersville, GA has received an offer from App. I have added him to the Main Page and added a player page with video. The Rivals 2 star is currently an MTSU commit who is showing additional reported offers from Marshall, Mercer, and UAB.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
RB, Josh Boyd, who is being listed in the AJC as a commit for us, is playing in the GA large school for Norcross in state finals tonight on GPB for anyone who has access to that. 8:30 kick. Not sure if that is available on-line, and please no SoCon - ESPN 3 jokes.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
From twitter TE/WR Marcus Mosely (6′ 4″ 210) of Alonso High School in Tampa FL has received an offer from App. I have placed him on the Main Page and put up a player page with video highlights. The Rivals, ESPN, and 247 3 star has additional reported offers from FIU, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Ohio, South Alabama, Syracuse, and Tulane. Interesting offer now with him having multiple BCS/FBS offers.

Maybe those BCS schools backed off after getting other commits?firemoose wrote:From twitter TE/WR Marcus Mosely (6′ 4″ 210) of Alonso High School in Tampa FL has received an offer from App. I have placed him on the Main Page and put up a player page with video highlights. Re: Recruiting, 2014
I had that thought in the back of my mind. Plus all players should look at the rosters of their offers to see what type of players they already have. Goes to playing time. Also thinking he is being recruited more as a WR than a TE, even though all the sites have him listed as a TE. His videos all say WR/TE and he mostly lines up outside. With Canty not taking his visit to Vandy until Jan 31st and Eaton 50/50 we've got to be planning ahead. It would be rough if Vandy pulls the trigger on the offer on the 31st and leaves us only 5 days to find a replacement. And who would be left.JTApps1 wrote:Maybe those BCS schools backed off after getting other commits?

Re: Recruiting, 2014
I've had him and McGuire pulled up all day. Been checking every few minutes for an announcement. I've also been keeping tabs on all our other JUCO offers to see if anything happens. I don't expect it to since the others have visits still to take in January but you never know.mtnjax wrote:Ford should be announcing soon. He's been retweeting a lot of App fans, so either he's tipping his choice or no one else is tweeting at him lol

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Just saw on JuCo CB Jordan Ford's twitter that he has committed to App State and will be signing tomorrow! Coaching staff is on a roll with this class. according to his twitter he will have 3 years at App since he RS already.
i'm curious to see if he gets converted to FS. He has good size for the position (6'2 185 and could probably add 10 easily)

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Thank you. I was never more than 15 seconds away from this computer all day and my internet goes fluky an hour before he commits.mtnjax wrote:Just saw on JuCo CB Jordan Ford's twitter that he has committed to App State and will be signing tomorrow! DB/WR Jordan Ford (6′ 2″ 185) of Calhoun Falls Charter School/Monroe College in New Rochelle, NY (JUCO) committed to App this evening. He picked App over Temple and Bowling Green. He does have three years remaining because the NCAA granted him a medical redshirt last year. He tweeted a couple of months ago that they had granted it and told several who asked he was fine, 100% , and ready to play. This commit gives us depth in the D backfield and also helps should Washington decommit. I'm moving him to the Commits section on the Main Page.
The class stands at 23 for now with one NLI signed (two on Friday when Ford signs), two FAA's signed, and JP Caruso enrolling in Jan. Good start but a long way to go.

Thanks for all the news you provide for us Firemoose. It is a welcome diversion to the basketball woes we are enduring.firemoose wrote:The class stands at 23 for now with one NLI signed (two on Friday when Ford signs), two FAA's signed, and JP Caruso enrolling in Jan.
