Petrino to be new Louisville Coach?
CBS Sports.com is reporting that multiple sources are saying that Petrino will be named the new Louisville coach. We all knew he wouldn't last long there. Time to look at their recruits and see who we might go after in this last month as we were competing for several with them and some were quoted as saying he was one of the reasons they chose WKU. According to my board we have at least three App offers that committed to WKU. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

We all knew he wouldn't last long there but not even to make it to signing day much less a full season. The WKU folks on the Belt board have been saying that Brohm is the reason for all of their signings and that the kids didn't like Petrino anyway. I don't believe that, but it's what they're saying to make themselves feel better.
Petrino is an asshat, always has been, always will be.

Yep I agree. I was just remembering reading some of the stories from guys we offered stating why they chose WKU and all three plus OL Irby, who was getting interest from App before he committed, saying they wanted to play for him. If you don't like a HC why in the world would you want to play for him, unless you're at the top level of CFB and playing for the NC. WKU, even with him, wasn't going to be. But who knows what some of these kids are thinking. We'll know soon enough if what the fans say is true by the number of de-commits they do or don't have.appst89 wrote:The WKU folks on the Belt board have been saying that Brohm is the reason for all of their signings and that the kids didn't like Petrino anyway. Wouldn't mind seeing WKU take a coaching transition related nose dive the moment they start representing CUSA.

Re: Petrino to be new Louisville Coach?
Sorry guys. I've edited my OP as it made it sound like he wasn't there this past season. I worded it wrong and was referring to two seasons. I had three of these stupid ads running over each other, was annoyed as hell, and was typing in a hurry. Then not proofreading didn't help. Anyway leaving after one season is still a slap in the face but not unexpected, which is what I was trying to say.

I can't imagine that anyone at WKU would be surprised by his departure. The guy gets that seven year itch after six months on the job.

Mr. Loyalty strikes again! Hope they make the escape clause from Louisville ironclad as they will be looking for another Head Coach within 2 years or less. Petrino can flat out coach but what a self-centered SOB. Considering the character of Louisville's Basketball Coach I guess Petrino would fit right in.

Probably not the only thing that gives him the itch...AppSt94 wrote:I can't imagine that anyone at WKU would be surprised by his departure. The guy gets that seven year itch after six months on the job.

Re: Petrino to be new Louisville Coach?
I think if I was a parent of a kid being recruited by Petrino, I would try everything I could to talk him into playing somewhere else. This guy has no ethics, morals etc. Louisville has a short memory, he screwed them over the first time, he will do it again first chance he gets.
