I said back in March that I thought we could get over 100K. Early thanks to everyone here from myself, AppGrad 78', and everyone who has contributed to the information in this thread. We've still got a few days to go till signing day and then more to come afterwards. Lots left to do and then the 2015 thread will start picking up. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing....

BTW...I am finally back up and I will try and have some info on visitors for this weekend. As most know my twitter was compromised. I now know how and will soon know where and hopefully who. But I've spent the better part of the past 20 hours trying to first stop, then delete my old account and set up a new one. I'm still trying to get all the follows, both ing and ers, set back to where they were and letting contacts know what my new account is. It's put me behind. I know we've got some visitors coming but just not how many yet. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow morning and will post as soon as possible.

Still working on getting a list of visitors. Between me losing my twitter account and the storm delaying the coaches getting back it's been fun trying to contact people. Mike and I are all working on it and hopefully I'll at least have a number soon with a few names to follow.

Where is everyone getting their info on GoSo's recruits? Apart from a 300 lb-er on the DL, the height and weights look like a typical FCS class. 6'2 270 OL recruits didn't really work out for us.

In addition to the DT you mentioned at 6-1/305, this shows 3 OTs at 6-5/330, 6-6/290, and 6-4/281 respectively. They also have an OG at 6-3/280 and a center at 6-0/290.

Compare this to our class: OTs at 6-2/295, 6-5/275, 6-5/260, and 6-4.5/274. I think Edge-Campbell (the 6-2/295) could end up on defense however, and it seems like Painter, Greer, and Malone have the frames to carry a bit more weight. Of course size is not all that matters, but GSU has some monsters in their class if all these guys sign.

App's guys have great size for OL at their age. You expect OL recruits to add some weight in college. I'd be surprised if that 330 lb. GSU recruit doesn't have some serious S&C work ahead of him before he's ready to contribute at the college level.

Most high school linemen over 300 pounds (the ones we can get -- usually) are not muscular. Sure, Alabama and those type schools can have ready-made 300 pounders, but for us, and for the remainder of the SBC, I'm not so sure what exactly 300 pounds means.

What everybody forgets is that we have 3 really solid linemen that were in last years recruiting class. Beau Nunn, Colby Gossett, and Parker Collins. All three will be starting this year or at the very least in the rotation.

I trust the coaches on this. They have seemed to do really well evaluating talent. Marcus Cox was not a big time recruit and look what he did for us last year.

Gonzo, just curious and I might be hijacking the thread but...What is your beef with CF? I have done it for a couple years and getting back into it after a while. I think it works perfectly for FB, as FB is a quick 5-6 burst with 3o sec. or so of "rest". CF is built on short, quick bursts of energy followed by a recovery period. That along with its concentration on Oly lifts, think it works perfectly. Matter of fact, our gym owner played college, USFL and NFL, says it is perfect for the game.

I would say it would work very well for the skill positions like, RB, WR, TE, DB, DE, LB but for a DT or OL you need shear raw strength. Would it still for for OL and DT's of course but it would be better integrated with more raw strength lifts.

If our 07 team were conditioned like our last years team, Michigan would have pushed them down to Toledo Ohio. We need a professional S&C coach. This is not about personalities as he is a really nice guy. This is about experience and professional training. His experience reminds me a lot of our BB hire.

It takes more than a week. If we can't hire an experienced number 1 we need somebody who has a few seasons under a strong number 1. This ain't computers.

Frankly I think Crossfit is a pyramid scheme, but that's neither here nor there for the purposes of our team.

Like the last posters were saying, CF might be great for building lean strength for skill positions, but it's inability to build size for the lineman was demonstrated by our team of late. It's a more injury-prone exercise too.

Our o-line sucked this year just like it did in the years we won championships, difference was we had a QB who know one could catch. Think about most of the "magical plays" AE made... He was running for his life. Another difference was the o-line in the championship years didn't have dumb flags at critical times.

I disagree. I think our O-line was excellent under Shawn Elliot during the run.
