I hate to break it to you but the animosity between the fan bases exists on a few message boards only. There might be 25 Charlotte fans that actually hate App and vice versa. Now if you count the number of Charlotte fans that hate Gonzo that''s easily in the hundreds.

I for one am really excited. I've got plenty of App alumni as friends and will enjoy some major tailgating at both venues.

Hey, 25 fans is "some," right? ;)

Fans on message boards being more obnoxious is universal. I think my experience w/ Charlotte fans is largely limited to a basketball game when I was a student many eons ago (in Varsity Gym). There was enough taunting between the two sides to make it fun, at least.

Yep, I'm pretty much a celebrity with you folks. It's all part of the character. I have several friends that went to UNCC. We have civil sports talks all the time. Of course, they don't know what goes on on the interwebz.

I want to play schools that I can drive to, and UNCC is one of them. I want to play in collage stadiums not pro stadiums or god forbid racetracks. The sports world has gone nuts. Hockey in football stadiums and football in racetracks. Who the heck wants to be so far away from the fields or rink that you can't see the game?

And I don't want to go to college games that pay players, if I did I'd watch semi-pro football.

Its a no brainer, the game at UNCC needs, no doubt, to be played at BOA.

If the tickets are alotted this game could easily sell 50k seats. That would produce a better gate for both schools. Given the state of the economy, I dont see neither school expanding stadiums to those levels before the given years. At least at KBS by that time will be able to pack in 35K vs less capacity at UNCC by that time.
KICK ASS!!!

The city of Charlotte negociated a deal with Panthers for 4 events with no rental fee for each of the next 10 years. Thats 250k, We need to lobby the CRVA to have this game in BofA Stadium in 2018.

Lobby all you want. It ain't gonna happen Charlotte is not going to give up certain home field advantage for a more neutral game at BofA. If the demand for the first two games is sky high, I could see later games being played there but it would have to be an annual neutral site similar to Georgia-Florida in the Gator Bowl.

That would be awesome. It could wrestle Western NC away from ACC influences.

How could BofA stadium even possibly be considered as a neutral site for UNCC? I thought it was your town? I bet your rich uncle Jerry could make this happen. Must be afraid of something?

Such a hurry?

Anyway this bit of scheduling was inevitable. Glad to see it finally inked.

Since it is not on their campus or facility they play in, it would be giving up the home field advantage. If I were them, I wouldn't do it either. At least, not initially.

I really had no idea what you were talking about. I had to Google it. I guess I have now seen everything. I do have to say though that even w/o the track no I am not a WSSU fan

Understandable, but sometimes you have to give a little to get a lot.

Just depends on how you look at it. I see it as giving a lot to get pretty much nothing. Different strokes for different folks.

I like as many games in Boone as possible, but I'm not opposed to looking into something that can turn into our version of the Outdoor Cocktail Party, Army/Navy or the Red River Shootout.

How much of the attendance at an average home game is made up of students? Of those, how many would App lose by playing a "home" game in Charlotte? Quite a significant portion, I would guess.

I believe in good years we had as many as 10k. How many students travelled to the last game at ECU? If someone can answer that question, I think you could make an accurate estimate.

Just thinking of your question a bit differently.
