"Thank you" lunch?
I have already discussed with a few board guys the idea of a "thank you" lunch for FIREMOOSE, CHARLIE, THE GUYS AT 247 AND ANYONE ELSE that contributed on the recruiting thread. I have mentioned having a lunch in Boone on a Saturday in the next 4-6 weeks for any board member that would like to "pitch-in" and buy these guys lunch for ALL the work they've done providing recruiting info to us... Just a way to say "Thank you!" It would be a great opportunity for a bunch of us to officially meet as well. Sooo... Is there interest from folks on here in pursuing that? Maybe meet somewhere like "The Rock" restaurant for instance. Where we meet will partially depend on how many will commit to doing this. I think us chipping in for Moose's and those others' lunches would be the least we could do... Who's in? Any ideas or suggestions welcomed.

Count me in. But it should be noted that, as far as I know, Moose did all the heavy lifting.

No, no! You're the guy who got the train on the track and to the station and got Moose into the cab with you. You get one of these yet-to-be-named awards, too! Maybe it needs to be...Hmmmm...not The Oscar, but The Charlie.

AGREE. Charlie is the man and has been for a long time. I'm just a guy with a computer and a little investigative and computer programming skills who jumped in. I'm just glad I've been able to help.asu66 wrote:AppGrad78 wrote:Count me in. But it should be noted that, as far as I know, Moose did all the heavy lifting.

I'm in! Great idea and a good chance for MMB folks to put faces with screennames.

Depends on the determined date, wife is a gymnastics coach and I have to work around her schedule (weekend meets and such). It's competition season. We have an 11 year old son, need to watch over him, etc. However, one thing is for sure, I'm ready to get the hell out of this God forsaken DC metro area for awhile. Also, would like to meet ya fellas.

Because those who've kept up with what we've done at 247 are paying subscribers for the most part, there is really no need to pick up lunch. I wouldn't feel right taking anything. I'd definitely pick up lunch or a beer for moose on my tab though!YesAppCan wrote:I have already discussed with a few board guys the idea of a "thank you" lunch for FIREMOOSE, CHARLIE, THE GUYS AT 247 AND ANYONE ELSE that contributed on the recruiting thread. It would be great to see everyone and get introduced to the folks I haven't met in person yet. Being down in Charlotte, it would depend on the time but if it were maybe worked out to be done before a home basketball/baseball game, I'd love to join.

My apologies to 78, he is a very close friend, but I had to do it.asu66 wrote:AppGrad78 wrote:Count me in. But it should be noted that, as far as I know, Moose did all the heavy lifting.

The first thing that came to mind was this...
Anyway, I don't need to have a reason to get to Boone. If it's a weekend, I can tell the wife I'm working on the "Todd House".

Re: "Thank you" lunch?
Sounds like a great idea for meeting people and showing our appreciation for everyone's hard work in keeping us informed.
A question, and not intended to minimize the cause. But would it be violating any type of NCAA rules if we were to invite the coaching staff to this luncheon to show our appreciation for their hard work as well?
