Re: Tournament Time
Let's not forget that we had to score two in the bottom of the ninth to beat them last Saturday. And while I would rather get them than Western, we needed assume anything they way this team has been up and down all year. No doubt, a win tomorrow would be huge.

Re: Tournament Time
Apparently the SoCon can't believe Western lost today and App won. They have Western playing GS and Furman tomorrow at10AM and 5PM and App not playing at all. Hopefully they will correct the schedule before tomorrow.

Re: Tournament Time
Well, if we can't (no pun intended) be the one doing the eliminating it may as well be another future Sun Belt member.appmaj wrote:GSU up early on Western.
Is it wrong to enjoy the idea of Western being eliminated early....

Re: Tournament Time
Somebody remind me why the higher-seeded team isn't the home team. Seems counter-intuitive, but other conferences do the same thing.

Re: Tournament Time
Thurber with another great performance.
I guess we can't complain how we lost as that's how we won our last two games. Furman now in the driver's seat.

Re: Tournament Time
Its determined by the bracket not the seed. Thus, since FU beat ccc, FU assumes #1 spot in the bracket.AppGrad78 wrote:Somebody remind me why the higher-seeded team isn't the home team. Seems counter-intuitive, but other conferences do the same thing.

It could have been worse, the first batter up could have hit the game winning homerun vice the second.BUTCH1991 wrote:Thurber blows another one.

Re: Tournament Time
I'm not sure but I believe the seedings determine the home team in the 1st round games - after that it is a flip of the coin ---AppGrad78 wrote:Somebody remind me why the higher-seeded team isn't the home team. Seems counter-intuitive, but other conferences do the same thing.

Re: Tournament Time
From the W-S Journal:
Freshman left-hander Dallas DeVrieze (1-3) is scheduled to make his first start of the season for the Mountaineers today.
Sophomore Ryan Frederick (4-1), who was charged with the loss against the Mountaineers on Wednesday, is the probable starter for Georgia Southern. Frederick has pitched in relief three times against the Mountaineers this season, allowing one hit and one earned run in four innings.
