Jamal Jackson accounted for all five of Appalachian State touchdowns as the Mountaineers topped Elon, 35-23, Saturday in Boone, N.C. JJ also named the College Football Performance Awards’ National Performer of the Week. Congrats to him and the rest of the Mountaineers!

Had Elon won Mellette may have gotten all of JJs awards, not that he didn't deserve them for what he did. I can think of 2 plays in which Blalock and McCray had not made outstanding defenses, Mellette would have had 300+ yds. I'll give Mellette his due, he's the best pure offensive player on our level whose skill set translates to the NFL.
