A very good piece on what App State can expect as it enters the FBS ranks. It would be a good read for all App fans who need to have realistic expectations as we head towards the SBC.

Re: DJ-Behind the Mic
great read, puts it into perspective, I think 5 wins would be great, 6 wins SS should win coach of the year award in the SBC. But I got to say, all the fans I have talked are pretty realistic about next years team, I haven't heard from anyone that believes this team next year will contend for the SBC. If anything I think the majority of the fans have a somewhat "guarded view" of next year, hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

Good read. I just hope some of our more recent fans will stick with us the next few years as we build an FBS program. They are used to seeing 8+ wins a year, but hopefully they understand the big step up in competition. Not just talent but the depth of talent.

Re: DJ-Behind the Mic
It was a great article and as usual DJ does a great job, whether writing or speaking.
I would personally be thrilled with 6-6. The more I look at the roster and the quality of recruits we have coming in for the fall to replace some key roles, the more optimistic I am about a .500 record, in particular at WR.
Even if we go 4-8, I can live it with as long as we are competitive because I see some really strong recruiting trends happening for our staff.

I'm calling either 4-8 or 5-7. Wins are Campbell, Liberty, Idaho and Ga State, and maybe an upset, Troy perhaps. Ready for August 30. Go Apps!

6-6 here, wins against Campbell, Liberty, Idaho, Ga State, GaSo, and an "upset" (I believe we'll sneek up on someone before the season is over).luvyosef wrote:I'm calling either 4-8 or 5-7. Re: DJ-Behind the Mic
I'm going with 5 wins at most. I think there are 6 maybe 7 teams we have the talent to beat individually, but I'm concerned with the timing of some of the games. I feel confident that we will beat Campbell, Liberty, and Ga. State (although I think they are improved). USM is a team we can beat, but playing down there in September will be tough. Southern is always a coin flip plus that game is the week after our trip to USM. I would say Idaho is a win, but I'm concerned about that being the last game of the year. It also comes after back to back trips to UL and Ark. State so we may not have the bodies left at that point. Maybe we can beat either USA or ULM since they are in Boone. I don't see us winning both.

As you suggest sometimes it's the layout of the schedule that influence a team's win/loss record. I think we can be competitive in these games but where and when they fall can make a difference. I think this is a pretty challenging schedule and not one all that favorable to our fortunes.JTApps1 wrote:I'm going with 5 wins at most.
