Texas State

Unread post by tea76 » Tue Jun 24, 2014 9:42 pm

Working in the Austin area this week, had a case in San Marcos. Went by the Bobcats stadium. Very nice stadium. App fans will be envious of their double deck in the closed end of the stadium. Location is in an iffy looking neighborhood and I imagine traffic to the game will be a challenge. They also have a very good looking baseball and softball complex near the stadium and a very nice T&F facility on the opposite side of the parking lot. Now if I can just get my employer to schedule me in that area on the right weekend!!!

I live about 10 minutes from Bobcat Stadium. The area the stadium is located is not a bad area. I can say Texas State has done a nice job on facility upgrades over the last few years in association with their move to FBS. The baseball and softball complex have recently been upgraded along with the football stadium.

Looks like the best looking football stadium in the SBC.
They sure love their river to float in also.

I'll say it once again, it might look good, from the outside looking in. It has nice architecture and all, but the problem is that at least half of all their seating is in the end zone. I don't know about you but if I'm in the end zone having to watch the game I am not comforted by the fact that at least it looked nice when we walked inside. I like that KBS has the vast majority of seats on the sidelines. I go to the game to see the game, not the stadium.

I agree. End zone seats are the worst. The bottom two or three rows on either side are almost as bad, or even worse.
