I know it's Michigan, however, this is a terrible showing. From the top (Satterfield) down to the water boy totally unacceptable!!!

Scared and disinterested look the same from the stands or TV.Boone Goon wrote:We're not going to face a better OL or DL than we're facing today. The rush defense has looked strong, but the depth is just too much...unlike last time Michigan is continuing to run it down our throat which will wear out our young team.
I'm concerned about what I'm seeing out of John Law...he seems completely disinterested...

Meanwhile, at last check Ga Southern is up on NCSU, 10-3.
Anyone who thought that the Michigan players were taking this as a ho-hum affair missed the boat. Fortunately, we don't likely play anyone else quite as good as Michigan. Playing an opening game like this is a double edged sword. If you have competitive performance it has to boost confidence, if you have a VT type beat down, you have to wonder what happens going forward.

Really haven't seen anything positive so far. I wasn't expecting a win, but that first half was ugly. First games the last few years have started out not so well. What are we doing in camp?! They're starting to rub it in on other boards as well.
GS up 17-3 on NC State. Oy.

I'm not sure what is on Law's mind, but he is not in the game in the first half mentally. I'm worried that our receivers aren't getting ANY separation. Granted we won't play DB's like this the rest of the year, our guys are struggling against press coverage. Having zero height is going to kill us as well. I'm not fully understanding why Burns isn't brought into the fold given his size.AppState2014 wrote:Law has looked awful. The 2nd best team we face this year is ULL. I think ULM, ULL, and Arkansas State are definite losses but even with what we are seeing today we can hang with or beat the rest. The Sun Belt is pretty bad outside the top 3 or 4. Georgia State only beat ACU by one point. ACU is a middle of the road team in the Southland.Boone Goon wrote:We're not going to face a better OL or DL than we're facing today. Satt might be the only one I am not mad at. He has been the only person wearing black and gold on that sideline to show even an ounce of emotion. Where is the leadership on this team, I knew we would lose but I didnt think we would roll over and do it happily with a smile on our face.WataugaMan wrote:I know it's Michigan, however, this is a terrible showing. It was only 14-0 with 4-5 minutes left and ended up 35. Those two long runs hurt after the d-line was hanging in pretty well. Then the decision not to run out the clock cost us yet another td on the block punt return. Not good, not smart, not anything. Disappointing finish to the 1st half. I just hope it's not 70-0.

It was over late in the 2nd qtr. Take our $1M, go home and try to learn and get better. Let' see what Lamb can do in the 4th.

Agreed. Lamb looks really good and given he is a freshman and we need to build experience for future years, I would be starting him next game instead of Bryant. No offense to Bryant - just Lamb has looked better and has a lot of runway ahead of him.RankinApp wrote:Lamb looking good. Did we start the game with the wrong QB? Do we have a controversy brewing?

I would like to see Lamb start just to see how he does. Bryant clearly doesn't have the arm strength and Lamb also seems to make a little bit better decisions.Yosef wrote:Agreed. Pump the breaks on the QB contravesy! Bryant is the right guy to lead this team do the next two years. The play calling has been better of late and don't forget that we're now playing against their #2-3s! They're no longer blitzing...
Thrilled with Upshaw's play!! We've got two great RBs!
