The running game

Unread post by AppSt94 » Sun Sep 07, 2014 9:13 am

I thought that Ferguson ran hard. I know that he was performing against a gassed front 7 but he was running downhill and banging away with great effort. I was surprised to see Upshaw with only 4 carries. I thought he would play more given Cox is coming back from knee surgery.

I think the coaches were wanting to give Marcus more carries since Upshaw got the most last week.

I imagine against So. Miss. it will be an equal split between the 2

I agree - I thought Ferguson looked good - TD runs he hit the hole very quick ---

Thanks. I thought as much but wanted to see if there was anything wrong.

I bolted during the delay but watched the second half on ESPN3. I wondered if we kept the running game pretty basic just so there would not be too much tape for So Miss and and So AL. I don't remember seeing any two back sets and like was pointed out not much Upshaw. Plenty of tape on Cox from last year but Upshaw will be somewhat of a mystery.

Different subject but did you guys notice the NC and So Con championship flags on east side were replaced with Sun Belt football member flags? They looked really cool.

I only saw the two-back set once, and on that play Cox was wide open on the right sideline and Lamb just couldn't get it to him. My guess is we will be seeing more of the two-back set as we go deeper into the season.
