I doubt anyone will boycott JMs day. Jerry is ready to return to the fold. As soon as Corey apologizes he can return too.

Dude, believe what you want, I know you'll never change your mind no matter what the facts (of lack there of) are.APPARJ wrote: Look, dude... The hairs have been split. The horse is dead. What I posted is my belief based on what was reported and those close to the situation from the Ath. Dept and personal friends of JM. Also, think what you want, football coaches have egos and JM, while a TREMENDOUS man, is no different.
As for your bizarre "...everyone is free to accept CC version and boycott JM..." comment, that is the kind of statement encourages a "If You're Not With Me, You're Against Me" attitude. Why even bring the idea of boycotting into this? Lame.
Let's PLEASE move on and agree that October 4th should be the biggest App State party at KBS since the 2007 Richmond game heading to the championship game.
Can we just take the thread back to App Honoring CM ...without all the left hand thanks and talk about egos? Personally I'll be glad when ever comment honoring JM doesn't have to be followed up with something negative.

I guess JM had a higher standard and $100,000 wasn't enough for him to put aside what his understanding was.
I'm the kind of person that would put what is better for the university over my personal needs and agenda. Anyone that has met me will attest to my love of Appalachian.
As for digging deeper, pot meet kettle, this is ridiculous. Congrats a Coach Moore I'm glad we are honoring you soon.

It doesn't matter. All I care about is being there on October 4th.

Mack Brown says hello!EastHallApp wrote:Man, to read this thread, you'd think JM was the first coach to ever be offered a cushy "ambassador for the program" type job among retirement. I don't think it's exactly unheard of.
Regardless, if he didn't want the job, he didn't need to take it. But that doesn't mean he gets to keep the HC job indefinitely.
Glad App is honoring him. The end of his career was mishandled by both sides. Should be a great day to set things right.

Easy to say this on a message board when trying to stick your chest out. I have seen some other posts of yours on here and I have to believe that if you WERE offered such a position you would move mountains to be first in line. Which posts specifically? Money is not much of a motivating factor for me. If it was, I wouldn't be devoting half my income to raising a 9 year old who is of no blood relation to me.App91 wrote:Easy to say this on a message board when trying to stick your chest out. Re: APP To Honor Coach Moore OCT 4th..
Well said. People on this board love Appalachian and Appalachian Football, but let's not get things out of perspective. People (including both Coach Moore and Charlie Cobb) are human and sometimes make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. To those who invoke Christian values into the conversation, I would encourage them to re-read the familiar parable of the prodigal son. I see nothing in there (or anywhere else in my Bible) where is says that we should forgive others once they have made a public apology to our satisfaction.APPARJ wrote:I don't know how anyone could interpret the 3 yr, $300,000 gig that JM was offered as anything but extremely generous and considerate...PhillyApp1 wrote:NewApp wrote:Some people would sell their souls for six figures, so to speak, and some wouldn't. You are just as Passive/Aggressive as JM, take that comment as you wish
The main POINT is "succession planning" that an ENTITLED coach/employee didn't like, so he acted like an entitled baby (and not very Christian like). Nuff written
...except for the fact that every successful head football coach in history has had an ego. It is part of what makes them successful in the first place.
JM's ego steered him to say "no" to retirement in hopes he could do well enough to keep his job. His ego lost. FSU has the same exact story for Bobby Bowden. It's nothing new.
I say this as a huge JM fan. He should've stepped down after 2012. He didn't. CC should've handled the situation with respect and gratitude for JM. He didn't.
Fast forward - we're going to honor the greatest coach in App State history and it is well over due!
My excitement for October 4th grows every day!
I haven't even heard where Corey Lynch is planning to attend on 10/4 but someone inserted that idea into the thread and it grew legs. I will be clapping as hard as I can for Coach Moore, and if Corey comes back, I will do the same. By taking the field, he would be retracting those inappropriate and poorly timed statements through his actions. I will accept that.
I'm glad to see the healing begin. I think this is a big step for both Coach Moore and for App State.

I'm sure he will reply and I anxiously await the continuation of this epic war of words in the coach moore thread, but he's waiting for you to finishing patting yourself on the back before he replies.

Re: APP To Honor Coach Moore OCT 4th..
Daze, I'm not patting myself on the back, but I did expect you to have something snarky to say. I'm simply saying that my 9 year old is my priority, especially the time I spend with him which is far more than the time I had available with my two biological children as well as my four grandsons.
In case you didn't notice that the tie in is related to my saying I wouldn't take a lackey, patronizing $100K job like was offered to Coach Moore. If you don't get the analogy, I suppose it is on me.

I didn't like Corey's comments, and I didn't like the way things ended with Coach Moore. However, it's in the past--it's time to move on. Let's let sleeping dogs lie.
Can't we all just celebrate Coach Moore--and Corey Lynch if he came--for his contribution to Appalachian State without arguments? We're all Mountaineers, and as far as I'm concerned Coach and Corey are as well.

I miss the old Delphi board. You could go there and count on getting good info from many of the posters who won't post on here. This board has too many that seem more concerned with post count and starting another lame argument.

There's still some good inside information available on here. But I know what you mean. The BS/Quality ratio is much higher here compared to the old board.TheMoody1 wrote:I miss the old Delphi board.
