10 days and counting until women's basketball practice begins for real in preparation for starting the season on the road at Kentucky and in preparation for a first season in the Sun Belt. A seasoned head coach and a quality staff would be nice.
The clock is ticking...today is almost over then there will be *only* nine days left...

Re: 10 days and counting...
It scares me that we've yet to name an interim HC, much less staff. At this point I am not too confident in what we'll be putting on the floor this year, and that is a disservice to the girls in the program. I'm afraid this whole incident has set back the WBB program by a good 3/4 years in total, which is not ideal as we move into the Belt.asu66 wrote:10 days and counting until women's basketball practice begins for real in preparation for starting the season on the road at Kentucky and in preparation for a first season in the Sun Belt. Re: 10 days and counting...
I had an e-mail exchange with the SID last week on this very subject. He indicated that Rick Beasley intends to hire a permanent, not interim, head coach before fall practice begins. This seems to me to be the very worst time to be looking to sign a permanent head coach. All of the best candidates are already under contract for the season and aren't about to commit professional suicide by leaving their current teams in a lurch so near the opening of pre-season practice. Most D-I teams will have a game (not just an exhibition) sometime during the second week of November.HkyMtneer wrote:It scares me that we've yet to name an interim HC, much less staff.
