Would love a good deal on some tickets to the Georgia Southern game if you are serious about selling. I only need one but I understand if you don't want to break them up! Send me a message through here or send me an e-mail at ajs0143@yahoo.com with what you are asking for them. Excited about going in to that hostile venue and watching my Apps spank them like they did last year! I would also be interested in tickets for Furman game if anyone is wanting to unload some or better yet "give them away"! I will have my kids that weekend and they love them some ASU football too! The losses are frustrating but the victories are sweeeet!

Its just a game.

If anyone is that irritated then how about you come to the GWAR concert tomorrow night in Charlotte. It should take care of any anger issues you have! An over the top metal extravaganza is the best way to get over any loss.

First of all I did not say I was giving up on the team. I will be at ccc and home for FU. I have been to Chatty and Birmingham as well as all other away games this year. I merely stated the obvious about our team at this point. Do you know how much you spend for 2 nights lodging, gas food, tickets and boarding dogs? I do. Of course I hope we win. I find it funny that folks that go to 1 or 2 away games(if that many) comment about my intent. Nothing would please me more than beating GSU ay their place. I know we are young and injured. Do you folks think I am some casual fan? If I wanted to bail, 2004 would have been the year. Hope those going have a good time (winning the game is about the only way to do that in Statesboro. Park at the carwash about 25 yards from the stadium gate. Usually free. Guess getting old I get fed up quicker. No body on here can afford my GSU tickets. They are priceless.

Your past record sir speaks for itself. You are obviously not a "casual fan". Since we are most likely of the same age, I for one can appreciate the comment about "getting fed up quicker". I get "fed up" with inappropriate fan behavior (especially the language) not the team. No reference to you. As a suggestion, I would take those "priceless tickets" go to the "Stink" and enjoy the game. You really do not want to miss this App victory or ruin that attendance record. The best way to get over the loss is to pull for the next victory. Hope to see you 25 yards from the gate.

I will be at that game on the 3rd. I will be wearing my black and gold with as much pride as always.

Even if we lost all of our games this year, I'd still support those guys on the field. They are all full-time students and full-time athletes. None of us knows what each one deals with off the field during the week - an ill parent? a huge paper? a little brother who's not making good choices?

Watch the video board the next time they introduce the players and count how many are freshmen and sophomores - 18 and 19 year olds. Now try and remember what it was like to be 18 or 19. Now try and imagine a 250 pound guy running at you intent on knocking you senseless.

Yes, I'll be in Statesboro this year. Go App!
Daphne, I will be there as well, come hell or high water! We will have to make some arrangements to meet up and tailgate down in Statesboro.

Sounds good, Mike. I'll be there with asucrutch23 and his lovely bride. We're driving down Friday late and then coming home as soon as the game is over.

Personally, if I felt like you did I would keep my trap shut. Giving away the tickets is fine but I don't see why you need to editorialize. I hope you are kidding about sending the tickets and your pearls of wisdom to JM.
If I were JM, I would probably read the first few words of the letter and see the tickets, and in the few seconds it took me to walk to the trash can I would think about what underprivileged group I could give the tickets too, then move on with my day.

Exactly what I'd expect him to do. Another coach would read the letter and be concerned fans are upset enough to feel that way.

This. It isn't solely on Moore, but some of it has to be. To put it on the players and say that the coaches simply make a gameplan and they are not in charge of executing it is true to a point. THE COACHES RECRUIT THESE GUYS! If they have players who lack discipline or make mistakes, then they should have picked different players. The entire football program needs a kick in the arse. The players come into Appalachian more entitled than ever--just ask the 07' players that made the trip who interacted with the new guys and get an off the record answer. They have great facilities, a great stadium, and a legacy of excellence they walk into. They seem to expect that things will be handed to them. The 05' team practiced in the snow, had "hell weeks" in Varsity gymnasium, and played with a chip on their shoulder because lots of them weren't told their sh** didn't stink in the process of recruiting. They earned what they got. Guys like Richardson, Armanti, Isenhour, Sticks. Some fans (and current students) seem to feel the same sense of entitlement. A change is needed at the top to re-energize the program at all levels. Lots of programs have had spurts of success, but very few sustain it if they continue the status quo. We have too much going in our favor to settle for above average, and for three years now that is what we've had.

I can't see how you can look at the freshmen on this team and say we should have recruited different players. They have necessarily been cast into roles that most freshmen would not have had to perform and have done so quite well overall. I see great things from these players as they mature performance wise as well as emotionally.

My comments were directed not towards a particular class, but to the entirety of the program. A lack of talent is not the issue, don't feel like I implied that it was.

Look, ASU football is down from where it was 2005 - 2010. No one is disputing that, but some of us are not into pointing fingers. JM has won a lot more at ASU than he has lost. JM deserves some "blame" (if you want to assign blame) for the down year last year and the inconsistency this season, but we're 5-3 with an almost completely new coaching staff and the youngest team in recent memory. I'm not putting these out there as excuses, but as factors that have impeded our success on the field recently.

I am sure JM would be the first to admit that he has made mistakes and would have done things differently. With that said, I think the easy thing to do is to throw the coach under the bus and rant and rave on an anonymous message board. As for the OP threatening to send his tickets back with a letter criticizing JM, that's just one of the most asinine things I have ever read.

There will be highs and lows. You seemed to have made it through the early 2000s. With a prospect of a 7-4/8-3 season and possible trip to the playoffs on the line, I hope our fan base doesn't lay down like Robert.

All you can really do as a fan is show up and yell louder on 3rd down (or every down on D).

I'm frustrated, we're all frustrated. What else are we going to do on Saturdays in the fall? Yard work? pass...

My brother in law might take those tickets. He's in ATL.

Athletes of all generations tend to glorify their accomplishments and work ethic, sometimes at the expense of the present-day souls who toil for teams like the Black & Gold. There's nothing unusual about that, and I take little stock in ex-jocks who throw their contemporaries under the bus. The guys from the 2005-2007 years certainly had a lot to brag about, but I seem to recall some miscreants on those teams who fell short of expectations and a few times when coaches like Shawn Elliott had to get in their grills after they committed a bonehead play.

This team doesn't lack leadership ... or heart ... or a competent coaching staff, as some have suggested. If you don't believe me, follow our players and coaches on Twitter. You'll come away with a different perspective. Yeah, we have some knuckleheads, just as we did in 2005-07, but for the most part they're every bit as dedicated and committed to making us a championship team as any other team in our history.

We need to get healthy, eligible and older. When that happens, we'll win championships again.

I agree. There are so many pieces to a championship team. You need a little luck to go along with the talent to win a championship. We seem to tend to forget the close wins and remember the close losses.

Good point... many people forget the sheer LUCK we had in getting our 3 in a row

1. Hunter fumble return for TD
2. JMU fumble with time running down

etc...

Dead serious. Any CEO worth his salt pays attention to the opinions and criticisms of long time customers. Mr Norton is obviously not some Johnny Come Lately who is merely blowing off steam. As indicated he has been attending ASU games since the 60's, and I'm betting has given thousands of dollars to ASU athletics. That is somebody I'd be listening to, but I'm not the all powerful Oz. Why some of you people think Coach Moore is beyond reproach is hard to understand.
