Re: Whats the deal??
The biggest problem is we make excuses too often for these players. Price has dropped way too many passes. That's ok, and as a freshman I cut him slack, but people are right to be critical of his attitude when things don't go his way. Sulking and walking back to the huddle is not acceptable at any level of football, I don't care how good you are. Secondly, stating that he's an FBS player playing FCS is exactly why Pre-Madonna's become Pre-Madonna's, because too many people spend all their time telling them how great they are. Case in point-Tony Washington had an amazing kick off return. But the more telling thing was his reaction. He was excited, but he didn't take it overboard and make it about himself and cost his TEAM a penalty. Everyone keeps talking about Price's youth, well Malachi Jones is a TRUE freshman and I see zero evience of him being a "me first" guy. I don't think anyone is tryng to run Price down, but it doesn't take too many of these types of guys to destroy the chemisty of a team. And it isnt always what the player does after he makes a great play. Alot can be learned about a player when things aren't going well for him.
Additionally, this idea that we should have just thrown the ball to Quick every play last year and we should throw the ball to Price every other play this year is ignorant and in a way promotes the pre-madonna attitude. Because guess what? When the player starts thinking he is open all the time then his attitude is going to reflect it when he doens't get the ball and that's how it starts. I love having Sean Price on our team, but the operative word it TEAM.

Re: Whats the deal??
Just a few random opinions from someone who does not usually know what he is talking about. We definitely lost a game we could have won and against Samford we won a game that we could have easily lost. Sometimes things happen, there is a lot that goes on in every game that we could dissect to death. The flip into the end zone and the JJ fumble being two of my sore points but for me it is time to move on and hopefully the coaches, who take these the losses a lot harder than any of us do, can fix the things that can be fixed. Considering the injuries and suspensions and the overall youth, I am not ready to give up the ship. Can we do better? Certainly. We have a good team that hopefully will get even better before the end of the season. Now if we lose to the cant's I may not have the same optimism
Sorry to be the spelling police but it is Prima Donna not pre-Madonna

BUMP! I LOVE THIS BOARD! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! GO APPS!contenderv07 wrote:this is my first post on this forum although I've been lurking on AGS for awhile. I played football for App, as well as have a long lineage of football in my family. The reason I say all of this is I watch other things during plays that some people might not notice. I've been watching Sean Price this year and I am NOT a fan... Yes, he has had a pretty good year and made a great catch at Samford, but it seems to me that he is a pre-madonna... If you watch him (from a defensive standpoint), you know EXACTLY if the route is going to him or not. He is LAZY and half-asses everything if he is not the intended target. This gets on my nerves!!!! I think the 4 (or 5) dropped passes vs Wofford just set me over the edge. I think this is (again) a discipline issue. If he doesn't want to give his all for App state, don't hit the sign on the way out, and get off of my team.. Sorry had to vent..

Re: Whats the deal??
so how did the prima-donna do today??? Looks like he had good yardage, so I'm sure he was strutting around some and walking back to the huddle
Anyway, I can't wait until we get a GOOD DC.... Apparently the one we have like for crappy teams to sneak back in games... There is no killer instinct on this team..great talent, just no heart or desire

Are you implying that his criticism is not valid JUST because he didn't watch the game?fjblair wrote:contenderv07 wrote:so how did the prima-donna do today???
