Huh?...you mean I CAN call time out to stop the clock just before the half. Wait...that gives us MORE time with the ball!appbio91 wrote:Hum...I just realized I have opposable thumbs. We did and were lucky to get the last one the way it played out. We stoned them on 1 st and 2nd down, no TO, thankfully they threw incomplete to stop the clock on 3rd so we could get the ball back. Remember the Meadors pass was 40 ish yards. and we ended up scoring with 20 or so seconds on the clock and took a TO in the locker room with us. With the Momentum we had no reason for not getting a to on their 2nd down to preserve some time. Got the feeling he was looking for a FG and just a sportscenter catch kept that from happening.appbio91 wrote:What's your beef about what happened before the half? My recollection is we stormed back from a a 20-6 deficit and took a lead into the locker room.

My apologies. But you can see why some would think it's a dig at Satt can't you? You are his biggest fan.appbio91 wrote:I'm talking about the girl looking at her hands Barney.....get a sense of humor.AppSt94 wrote:Huh, I wonder if Appbio91 would talk all of his crap to my face?appbio91 wrote:Hum...I just realized I have opposable thumbs. N.P. But I think you are confusing me with someone else who has a 91 in their screen name and has been quite vocal lately regarding Satt.AppSt94 wrote: My apologies. But you can see why some would think it's a dig at Satt can't you? You are his biggest fan.
Dude! You are really reaching for something to complain about! We didn't use a TO because we effectively used the sideline, incomplete pass and first down to stop the clock. That's what any coach would do! We connected with a miracle pass on the 1 yard line....a play called by those coaches who were apparently playing for the field goal by your account. We all know you aren't happy about coaching, but you are just looking for things to complain about here!!!! Ridiculous!!!App91 wrote:We did and were lucky to get the last one the way it played out. Dude! Catch a clue, talking about when THEY had the ball. At least 30 sec. ran off the clock between 2nd and 3rd down, my whole section and half the stadium were yelling TO. I am not reaching here, complete rookie mistake.Yosef84 wrote:Dude! You are really reaching for something to complain about! What does a diploma have to do with a discussion regarding what I think was poorly handled. Again, I ask the rose colored glasses people, are we past discussion of good/bad with this program? Is this now the place for everyone to sit in a circle and tell each other how great we are? Getting panties in a wad because someone points out issues is beyond belief. Hell go to the Western board, they do not like dissention over there!AppinVA wrote:I can't believe your diploma looks like mine.App91 wrote:We did and were lucky to get the last one the way it played out. As is mine. Matted, and behind real glass, even.App91 wrote:What does a diploma have to do with a discussion regarding what I think was poorly handled. I am sorry, but you are reaching. We save that time out for offense -- most coaches would do the same exact thing. And fyi, ULM ran the ball on 3rd for 3 yards -- not an incomplete pass -- and then we called a time out... http://www.appstatesports.com/fls/21500 ... 0#GAME.PLYApp91 wrote:Dude! Agreed, but at that point we had at least 2 and I think 3 to's in the pocket. Yes you save oneAppStateNews wrote:I am sorry, but you are reaching. But, back to your point of finding something to complain about. Most coaches save that last time out for offense in that case. We started that drive with :45 seconds left at the 37 yard line. Knowing we were likely going to pass, what happens if Lamb gets sacked? The clock runs and more time is wasted. Again, as a former coach, saving that time out for offense is the right thing to do. And most coaches would agree with that!
Please look at the link I posted.. they ran on 3rd down for 3 yards and then we called a time out.App91 wrote: Agreed, but at that point we had at least 2 and I think 3 to's in the pocket. Yes you save one
Edit, you would NOT save one if the alternative is not getting the ball, so stopping the clock is first priority. They did save us one by throwing on 3rd down.
