Quite a win. Congrats!

Pretty remarkable turnaround since the Liberty loss.
Dude, you "ain't seen nothing yet."

Couldn't help but notice that 1-10 Elon's only win was against you guys.

i'm not being cocky. if any fan base was being cocky it was Charlotte with all of the trash they were spitting in our direction once they got CUSA invite

all i know is that RIGHT NOW, we've won 4 straight Sun Belt/FBS games and just beat the 3x defending conference champs on the road. i'll take that any day over having lost 6 straight FCS games and barely beating a D3 team

Liberty happened, yes, but the Apps are not playing like that team right now
Remove Phillips from their line-up and put him in the backfield with Cox and Upshaw....which he was a lot closer to being than 99% know.....and our dear UNC-KonKord fans would have NOTHING to "crow" about. He, like Cox is special. (....and they, UNCC fans....even ones who did not go there) all talk trash, even the ones I like!
I've watched Khalif Phillips play, and let me tell you, as bright as he seems next to the rest of his sorry team, Phillips would be our 3rd running back AT BEST. Maybe even 4th behind Ricky Ferg.

If both schools aren't bowling how about GS comes to Boone in December for a rematch. Give us a couple weeks to practice against the triple option and we beat that program with the improvements we've made on defense and oline.

We'll be up there next year, so you'll get your chance. In the meantime, take it out on ULL and just be glad you won the first and last (1-AA/FCS) game between us, a minor thing that still grates on my last nerve. That said, it's FBS ball now and WE own this conference. You make nice runners-up though.. :P

If you're scared just say it, don't dance around it.

Looking forward to the GS game next year, I hope it's in November too.

In all honesty, there is nothing about your team that I want to emulate. Enjoy your moment in the sun. The only team that you beat in conference that we lost to is South Alabama. Your next biggest win was a nailbiter on the road to Texas State. As the season progresses your margin of victories are decreasing has teams figure you out. We are turning in dominating performances week in and week out with a young team that is getting better each week. You have won the battle this year and looked poised to win the war as well but keep in mind as sweet as those short term victories taste, the sun shines on a dog's arse once in a while.

old fart will not admit it, but GS has gotten weaker as the year has progressed, (injuries, lack of depth) while App has got stronger, they are really lucky they have a bye week, if they played ULM this Sat they would lose. Next year is going to be a challenge for them, most of their success is based on the play of juniors and Seniors (4 senior starting offensive lineman) while are success is based largely on the play of freshman, RS freshman, and Soph. We will see what they have next year replacing those players.

I think QB Ellison's shoulder is not 100% so we've become 1 dimensional...again.. I disagree that we will be weaker next year provided we can replace the O-line. We are also starting a few freshmen and sophomores and we have some decent junior talent that can fill most of the O-line's shoes. If they gel we'll be even better if Ellison can get his shoulder right. We'll still have most all of our skill players including Breida and Ramsby, and hopefully Nardo Govan can get back next year. IMO, he is the missing piece in our offense at H-back. He was big fast and strong and was a key part in our blocking scheme and since his injury, we have struggled a bit on offense. Obviously we need some talent on defense and hopefully we can address that in the off season. Making some noise this year "should" help recruiting, especially if we can beat ULM and take the title. We have two weeks to get ready and if our guys don't want this title, they don't deserve it. We'll see.
Anyway I agree App is coming together and it should really be a dogfight in Boone next year. I'm not having a love fest with you hillbillies but our two teams have fought hard and earned our right to play in the FBS, and I am proud of that. I love the rivalry with you guys some years, dread it other years, but its what makes college football awesome. I think another poster pointed it out that we need to schedule this game for rivalry weekend, but I think we need to play it in the Georgia Dome every year and call it the "Country Comes to Town" bowl. That way, all excuses are out the window.(It'll piss gagstate off and we won't have to play on that cold ass rock) Anyway I'm planning on another trip up that way next year, it's a pretty place but cold as crap in the winter. After pulling for you guys this week and after posting over here, I'm going to take a bath and beg for forgiveness. You girls have a nice day!

I agree we both are showing FBS we definitely belong. However, we can play your games in the Georgia Dome, but ours will be in Boone. While I can see why you all want any excuse to get away from the stink and gnats, we have no such reason to give away a home game.

What a great idea. If both teams end up Bowl eligible but can't go to a bowl because of the transition rules, maybe we can propose to the NCAA a ONE-TIME Bowl in Atlanta. I believe attendance would be great and surely we can workout something with the Georgia Dome

I am surprised more has not been said about the fact that South GA did not play A ST or ULL. Had they done so late in the season as we have, it would have been a very different story. The Institute in ATL won the ACC the first year the conference had to deal with the TO but several years later the disciplined and well coached defenses still shut them down. Of course this year they also have a fairly potent passing game as well which is the secret to the long term success of such an offensive scheme. I do not know if the SB D's can achieve that level of discipline but two things are for sure: South GA ain't and never will be as good as GT and App would beat South GA today.

Man, I cannot wait until next year. I hope our bowl game is somewhere warm!

Yep, ASU is 15-12-1 vs the Eagles according to CFDW, counting this year's loss.

Too me, it is who they have played and not who they have not. GS's 8 wins have come against 1 team with a winning record (6-4), 2 teams that are 5-5, and 5 teams with a combined record of 7-42. I think you are correct that their offense is gimicky and teams will figure out how to stop it as more game tape is available. Texas State did a good job against them and showed people how to slow it down. Another point is what happens if they lose Fritz after the season to a P5 school and they hire a more conventional offensive minded coach. Let them have their moment.
