During all my years on MMB I can never remember anyone saying "You have to root for APP and no one else" - you can see in my moniker the WV which represents the State and the University - We have Montana fans, new SB fans from other SB institutions, some who have no direct connection with APP at all - I am not a graduate of APP nor UNC - The problem many of us have who have lived in this state for a long time (me), a short time, or forever, and have had, themselves, loved ones, personal family members, etc., graduate from APP and have to listen to how the Carolina grads are so much smarter, so much better prepared for life, basically in the opinion of unc-ch grads they are just superior to any APP grad - Now I can say this for a fact, our daughter and son-in-law who are both APP grads are doing much much better in their lives and careers than their peers who "studied" at unc-ch
AND MY COMMENTS HERE DON'T INCLUDE DAPHNE NOR OTHERS WHO ARE REGULARS ON THIS BOARD !!!

I don't get it. Are we jealous because UNC cheated to win all those titles, or are we jealous because UNC got caught? LOL

It really is amazing how off-topic we can get on this board. A discussion about bowl eligibility turns to UNC. We really are nuts.

Also, I hate to say I told you so, but several weeks ago, people were somewhat offended that Georgia Southern was harping about not being bowl eligible, despite their record. I stated that we would do the same thing, and have numerous posts about it. I was right.

Well I support App financially and I am a Carolina fan in passing. There are some on here that don't find that to be acceptable.
Personally, it's not for me--I only pull for App State. As I tell people, I grew up a Carolina fan, but then I put away childish things.

My only beef is with people who are App alums but only pull for UNC. Of course, anyone that is not a UNC alum but still pulls for them after being proven to be cheaters speaks more of the person than UNC.
Well I grew up a Carolina fan as well. I don't see why I can't root for them as a grown up. If that means you think less of me then so be it. I am an Appalachian fan first an foremost and will root for the Black and Gold against all foes in anything. I also enjoy LSU football and UCLA football and basketball. I don't feel the need to defend what is going on in Chapel Hill because it is indefensible. But 12 pages and 200+ posts on the corruption at a fellow state school is by in large being done out of jealousy. People openly complain about people wearing baby blue at KBS but no one seems to have the same amount of disdain for those wearing Clempsun, State, or Duke garb.

It appears that you chose your response without reading my post. I'll state it again, and maybe you'll read it this time. My only beef is with people who are App alums but only pull for UNC. It appears that you do not do that, so I'm not sure where you came up with the "think less of me" stuff.

Again, most people posting in this thread are not jealous of anything at UNC. We are simply watching this closely because it could negatively impact App State down the line. Sure, the UNC haters will be posting there...why is that shocking? And, if you have a problem with a 12-page, 200-plus post thread you could always just not open the thread. No one asked you to defend UNC, either.

As for what people wear at KBS, as long as the seat they're sitting in is paid for I don't really care. However, I'm just as turned off by people wearing any other team's garb in KBS unless those two teams are playing at KBS--whether it be UNC, Duke, State, Clemson, Syracuse (yeah, that one was odd to see in 205), etc.

This isn't personal about you 94, my intent was not to make you defensive or insult you. It's just anon opinions.

UNC does the right thing and self imposes a bowl ban due to the recent developments on the hill...

You might want to delete this account and rejoin under a new name. You are going to get beat up on here with that screen name. Consider yourself warned. The majority of these folks hate all things Carolina.

Actually, the person that said "You might want to delete..." is a self-described App fan that also roots for UNC.

In your post, you also left out the context of the self-imposed bowl ban quote that it was a "wild-card scenario" that could free up a bowl spot for App. Context is everything.
