Now we have someone posting to tell everyone that this is "one of the dumbest messageboard threads" read in a long time. Yup, you're right...it has "all of the crap in one thread."Appersrule wrote:Honestly this is one of the dumbest messageboard threads i've read in a long time. Eh, the point was clear and accurate which left out the irony. I'm glad you got the point, though.Kgfish wrote:I did not miss the point, just thought it ironic someone calling me out was doing (posting under a screen name) the same thing. I know, I know. You say I bashed someone and you don not do that. I get it. Glad you have been around a while, but you know we have a tone of bandwagon fans. If a troll is a 20 year Yosef Club member then I accept the label.ASUMountaineer wrote:Kgfish wrote:Guess you do not "hide behind" ASU Mountaineer, or is that your given name? Not a troll, ASU grad & Yosef Club memeber way before 2005 when most of you bandwagon fans jumped onboard.ASUMountaineer wrote:You're absolutely correct with that last statement. It is crazy to get on a message board behind an anonymous screen name and waste time denigrating someone. Don't you have anything better to do?Kgfish wrote:"You and Norton may have a valid point if we were 2-9 last year and 1-7 this year...we made the playoffs last year and are in contention to do so again this year, let's slow down on the book of Revelation coming true...and as far as returning tickets, this is just plain dumb IMO, "I'll show you, I'll throw away my own money!"..Coach Moore is one of the most postive people I know (and I've spent time with him personally). The truth is that most positive people have zero time for negative nancys"
With the expectations of this program 7-4 might as well be 2-9. Simply making the playoffs isn't good enough for a fan base demanding to contend for the national championship every year. They have provided the resources necessary to compete for the championship on a regular basis and it is foolish to think they will be satisfied with anything less. Welcome to life at the top.
As a matter of clarity and to satisfy my own curosity, I did a little research on Mr Norton. Do you know that he and and his wife only gives the paltry sum of $5000 annually to Yosef! With such feable support of the program how dare he expect more from it! Upon further examination I discovered the Norton's gave at the $10,000 level the previous three years. Ah ha! The the smoking gun! Obviously cutting his donation in half is proof positive of Mr Norton's vendetta against Coach Moore as claimed by Mr JCline.
Some of you guys are nuts!
I think everyone on this board would agree that the past few years have been lackluster by ASU's standards. But, most reasonable people would also agree that sometimes teams have down years. I just think, given history of work, that it's ridiculous to criticize coach the way people do on this board. Accurate criticism is valid, but a lot of people make it sound like we're Memphis or WCU. We're not, we've never been like that under JM, and won't be. Believe it or not, the sky is not falling, the sun will come up tomorrow, and life will go on. You may be disappointed to learn that JM is still employed, but that's just sad for you.I never said that I do not hide behind my screen name. You clearly missed the point that you are hiding behind your screen name while publicly questioning someone's character anonymously (I am not). That's actually quite a simple concept to understand that any ASU grad should be able to grasp.
BTW, I'm an ASU grad and have been a Yosef Club member for years too (I just don't feel the need to brag about my donations throughout the years on the MMB). So, unfortunately, your weak "bandwagon" smack doesn't apply. Nice try though...
As I said, keep trollin'.
As for being a troll, length of time being a fan is irrelevant.
And, yes we do have a ton of bandwagon fans. But, a loss Saturday could thin the herd a bit.

JC, I think you know this but for those who might not know, that list was intended for humorous effect. I agree with some, but not all of the statements made there. That's better. I was afraid we would miss something.
2. Pepsi typically gives athetic entities a much better deal than coke. Hundreds of scoreboards across NC are donated by Pepsico in return for the business.
3. LexCue may be considered the best but a Woodlands Cue at the game rivals it.
4. Spot on about the PA music.
5. The third down graphic (bell) should instead be an actually hand operated bell.

Bandwagon fans are still fans. They buy stuff. We need them. Though you are right that the herd would be thinned with a loss, we don't need that to happen.

Re: My record will be gone
The use of the word "revenue" is a bit misleading considering institutional support is included in schools revenues. One look at the subsidy catagory and the picture becomes clear. Of the schools you mentioned only 6 (what number did I say?) get 50% or less of their "revenues" from institutional support: Montana 42%, N Iowa and W&M at 47%, ND & NDS 48% and ASU 50%. Those schools are generating a majority of revenue through ticket sales, sponshorships and contributions. The rest depend on their school to finance a majority of their program, and in my book that isn't at our level. S Ill 64%, Ill St 65%, N Ill 69%, Mont St 70%, ODU 72%, Del 79%, Coastal 82%, SFA & JMU 83% and Towson 85%.asumike83 wrote:In 2011, the ASU Athletic Department generated $17.75M in total revenue.Kgfish wrote:Your comarisons are not valid. The BCS programs you referenced have mostly the same resources which makes attaining national championships much more difficult. That is not the case in FCS where there are perhaps a half dozen programs with close to the same resources of ASU.
James Madison, Delaware, Old Dominion, William & Mary, Towson, Coastal Carolina, North Dakota, Southern Illinois, Montana and Montana State all generated more revenue than that and in many cases, a LOT more. Programs like Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Stephen F. Austin and North Dakota State are all right in our ballpark as well.

We should not be satisfied to stay where we are but there are many FCS programs with similar or greater resources than us, many of which are nowhere near as successful.

Yosef84 You are dead on with your analysis, except we all know eastern NC BBQ rules and pepsi was born in the carolinas, therefore trumps some Atlanta coca-cola

I prefer Cheerwine with my Q. I prefer pork to beef. And I like vinegar based. Tomato based and yes even mustard base sauce. Macs Speed Shop in Charlotte isn't a bad place to eat Q either.

I know, but I had to support Woodlands since they actually vend their Q in the stadium. What gets me though is that Charlie won't let them sell their iced tea. I doubt that Charlie has anything to do with it. More likely, it's the Pepsi contract that won't allow it.

Woodlands thinks it is Charlie's call.
Remember, we sell hot chocolate which is far from being a Pepsi product.
