Cam Newton was injured in a car crash

His truck overturned. Hope he is ok.

Most recent report I saw was that he sustained no injuries. A miracle, considering the roof of his truck was almost completely caved in!

Official Panthers statement says he is in fair condition and being held overnight for observation. No word on what his injuries are.

Just got word that he has two transverse process fractures in his lower back. Not sure what that means for him for his season but just hope he can heal up.

Shut him down. Don't know if they have any other choice, but even if so, they'd be crazy to risk further injury just to chase a sub-.500 division title and first round playoff loss.

Tony Romo had this injury last year and played later this week.

On a side note: an eyewitness said that he climbed out the back of his truck before EMT's got there.

This happened about four blocks from my office. It's a very dangerous intersection in CLT. Glad to see he and the other driver only sustained non-life threatening injuries. Hope Cam can get back quickly. According to a sports journalist from WRAL, he told a medic "don't you know Ace Boogie really is Superman." I love it!

Only Cam could figure out a way to have 4 turnovers on a Tuesday. He did say when he entered the league he wanted to be a role(roll) model.

I am uptown as well. That intersection is awful.

I don't know if it's been posted, but De'Andre Presley is listed as one of two backup quarterbacks behind Derek Anderson this weekend. The other is Philly Brown.

Edit: Check that, AP is reporting that Joe Webb is the backup. Darn Twitter!

I believe they were referring to the emergency 3rd QB. I saw several tweets that said that. And that's the position that Webb has held this season. WBTV said tonight that DeAndre was the 3rd so I guess RR made it official in his presser.
