Re: Recruiting, 2015
Was Daniel David offered somewhere else recently? He tweeted something about "it's crazy how just one offer can change the whole recruiting process."
I can't find anywhere he was offered elsewhere, but it sounds like he might have been.. Hope we can hang on to him -- he's a stud!

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I saw the same post last night. Hadn't seen anything in the dead period and Mike and I have been looking all morning to see if anything has shown up today but haven't seen anything yet. He's not only a great recruit but he and Dez Reed have been two of the best cheerleaders for us with commits and offers from this class. Hopefully it's a general statement or a reference to someone he's been talking to. I'll update if anything appears.AppStateNews wrote:Was Daniel David offered somewhere else recently? Re: Recruiting, 2015
Fantastic.
Hope we have plenty of good leads still out there, because with only 14 commits we can't afford to lose many, even with a relatively small projected class.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Davis is coming next weekend. I'm betting the Miller will be coming with him. Not positive but makes sense that they would come together. Mike has a message into Brody Barrett to see if he is flying in from CA. I'll update that one when we know.App95 wrote:Haven't heard much from Davis and Miller. Will they be coming up in the next few weeks for an official?

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Add LB Darius Wright (6' 1" 230) of Hutchinson Community College (JUCO) in Hutchinson, KS to the list of visitors coming this weekend. I've had him listed for a couple of weeks in the Considering section since I didn't see an offer posted but with him coming for an official I've moved him to the Offers section. Player page with highlights was already built. He is a former teammate with App OL Shaq Counts at Irmo High School.firemoose wrote:Below is the list of commits that are reported to be coming for this weekend. I'll add the uncommitted offers, targets, and others sometime today but just wanted to get this started.
Jan 16th-18th Visits:
Commits:
QB Daniel David (6′ 2″ 190) of Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, GA
WR Kielan Whitner (6′ 1″ 185) of Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, GA
LB Dezmin Reed (6′ 2″ 220) of Georgia Military College (JUCO) in Milledgeville, GA
ATH Obe Fortune (6′ 1″ 180) of Heritage High School in Conyers, GA
OL Victor Johnson (6′ 5″ 260) of North Augusta High School in North Augusta, SC
OL Alex Taylor (6′ 8″ 290) of Berkeley Senior High School in Moncks Corner, SC
DE Antonius Sims (6′ 3″ 245) of Eastside High School in Covington, GA/Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA
I'll keep updating as any other players post about coming for a visit.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
could someone please tell our fans to STOP F***ING TWEETING AT RECRUITS AND GETTING IN PISSING MATCHES WITH STINK FANS ON TWITTER?!? it just looks sad and clearly it has made a negative impression on one of our bigger commits right now
Re: Recruiting, 2015
I agree we should not tweet recruits....but if they are choosing schools based on what some "fan" says on twitter they are not a very sophisticated 21st century social media user...I'd give them more credit than that.....mtnjax wrote:could someone please tell our fans to STOP F***ING TWEETING AT RECRUITS AND GETTING IN PISSING MATCHES WITH STINK FANS ON TWITTER?!? it just looks sad and clearly it has made a negative impression on one of our bigger commits right now
....as for "pissing" matches....we made a statement as a team the last 6 weeks of the season....there are going to be more "pissing" matches to come....

Re: Recruiting, 2015
well, the pissing match i was referring to was in this instance where the recruit was left on the whole conversation. if you're gonna start an organ measuring contest on twitter, take the recruit's handle off the convoasutrnr81 wrote:I agree we should not tweet recruits....but if they are choosing schools based on what some "fan" says on twitter they are not a very sophisticated 21st century social media user...I'd give them more credit than that.....mtnjax wrote:could someone please tell our fans to STOP F***ING TWEETING AT RECRUITS AND GETTING IN PISSING MATCHES WITH STINK FANS ON TWITTER?!? it just looks sad and clearly it has made a negative impression on one of our bigger commits right now

Never understood why grown men tweet at 17&18 year old kids. Let the coaches do their jobs we don't need you recruiting for us on Twitter of all places

agreed. i don't even follow them. the only one i followed last year was AJ Howard, but that was just because he made a hilarious response to Tru Johnson after he decommitted from App. never tweeted at him thoughYosef10 wrote:Never understood why grown men tweet at 17&18 year old kids. Saw a tweet earlier indicating we'd picked up another commit today. Any idea who it is?

Got a chance to meet and hang out with a lot of the recruits at a party last night. Seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I've been searching today as usual but haven't seen anything. Doesn't mean it's not there but I usually pick them up. I'll go back through and see if I missed something.Blackangold4 wrote:Saw a tweet earlier indicating we'd picked up another commit today. Any idea who it is?

Thanks moose! It was ledford's tweet this morning that made me think we had a new one.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I think he was just talking about the recruits coming up and that this was sort of their "coming to school" moment and now they are like apart of the family.Blackangold4 wrote:Thanks moose! It was ledford's tweet this morning that made me think we had a new one.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Mr. Cross is right. I saw that one earlier and I took it that DL was talking about the group of commits. Several of them are planning no more visits so they are as solid as they can be right now. Next weekend is going to be the big one as we've got mostly uncommitted and committed elsewhere recruits coming in. I'm sure we wanted to spread out the commits to help with these guys but just appears this is the way it worked out. We should have Davis and Miller here at least. Not sure if Barrett is going to try and make the trip. We'll know this week.crossza wrote:I think he was just talking about the recruits coming up and that this was sort of their "coming to school" moment and now they are like apart of the family.Blackangold4 wrote:Thanks moose!
