ASU Women @ Louisiana-Monroe 1 PM EST Fant-Ewing Coliseum

Unread post by asu66 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 10:53 am

Like their male counterparts, the ASU women's basketball team has been in free-fall since senior C/F Maryah Sydnor suffered an injury late last month in San Marcos, Tx. Since then, our ladies have gone 1-4--including three straight losses.

Today the RPI #154 Apps (10-12, 5-8 SunBelt) take on the RPI #190 UL-M Warhawks (10-13, 6-8 SunBelt) in a battle for seventh place in the SunBelt and a place at the table for the SunBelt Tourney in New Orleans. Currently, the Apps are in a tie for eighth and clearly on the bubble. Thankfully, there's still time and opportunity to improve their situation.

Clearly, ASU is a different team with a healthy Maryah Sydnor in the lineup. Without her 19 points and 10 boards, life is tough. We're just over two hours before tip-off, and the athletic department has had no comment about Sydnor's availability for today's contest. The Warhawks have to prepare as if she will play. I have to assume that she will not. In that situation, the Apps will be slight underdogs. Methinks UL-M should be favored by 6. If MS can play and contribute, the game should swing to the Apps by 6.

The game can be seen live on Warhawks All-Access TV...

Sydnor came in the game late in the first half and immediately had an impact.

Tied with 3 minutes left.
