Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
This will be the best season long football atmosphere since I've been following App, mid-80s. Two nationally televised night games, one Halloween game, new ideas from a new AD, all combined with the best collective home game slate you've ever seen. I expect every game to be competitive sans Howard.
Yeah I've got to shake some plans up to make them all, but I've got 6+ months to work this out and I'm pretty excited about it.
Leave your moaning and complaining to the other thread this is for fans that are PUMPED!

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
I've already got my vacation days on the calendar for October and November. This is the best home schedule we've ever had. Sure, the times are not ideal, but it's App football and I'll be there.

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
Which home game will be designated homecoming this year? I am planning to attend, the last homecoming that I attended was back in 2005 or 2006. I can't remember due to a mild case of CRS. I have given a Christmas gift certificate to my two nephews for a home game this year. I am hoping to get them hooked on Appalachian football. I am wanting to come up for the GaSo game since I am now retired.

I have to agree! Just my opinion but the Wyoming game is one I would circle as a statement game.We need that win over a mwc team and if I remember right they slaughtered us a few years back (may have been Hawaii ).This is going to be a fun year in boone.

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
Why we would have a night game on Nov 5 is beyond me. Maybe the conference hasn't figured out that it's cold in Boone in the daytime then much less night.. Regardless I'll be there r.

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
As I posted on the whiner thread;
I think that with a good start the students will rock these Thursday night games like never before. They may fill their sections and both endzones! If you want to see a spectacle you will be there!
I am also excited about having our first FBS non-conference home game. Wyoming may not be a national power, but they are a recognized state flagship.
I see this schedule as a glass full to the top!

I haven't told my principal yet, but I'm taking two Fridays off next year.

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
I, too, have already circled the Thursday dates for this year and plan to take a long weekend on those weeks. I don't know how anyone can look upon this years schedule as anything other than a triumph. We are definitely playing the best home schedule that we have ever had and I think that some of the mountain locals might make the trip over for a Thursday evening jaunt.
Our students can make a statement by showing up and being LOUD way past half time ! Let's get up on the mountain anytime that we possibly can and let this team know that we have their back.

I've made reservations thinking homecoming has to be Wyoming.appfan83 wrote:Which home game will be designated homecoming this year? I'm so excited. This is a brand new start on life for me and my wife. I'm retiring in June, and I have new wheels. We're ready to enjoy App State sports, like no other time. I have season tickets and Thursday games are no problem. Can't wait!!! We have decided on at least two away games, the Clemson game and ODU game. I'm pumped over the edge. I Know, but it's a great feeling. Go App!!!

Is there a limit to how many students are allowed into a game?

Re: Prepare for the best gameday atmosphere yet
Right there with you guys...retired in June , 2013. Got a great part-time job helping a friend of mine but that won't stop me from attending both Thursday games. Even if I was still working there would be plenty of time to make arrangements to be off. Nothing like retirement!hapapp wrote:Welcome to the ranks of the retired.
