One more thing that will make it more difficult on GS is the fact everyone will have a year of film on their offense. Fritz made some significant changes to their traditional option so nobody knew how to play them. By the end of the year teams were defending them better than early on.

got to give GS alot of credit, they could have lost 2 or 3 more games last year, but they were clutch when they had to be, only game where they we finished before halftime was the Navy game, having said that, they weren't nearly as dominate in the second half of the season. I think if we would have played them towards the end of the season we would have beat them by 10 points.

I believe Fritz is a very good coach, we will find out how good with the players they lost and whether he can recover quickly.

Here's an article from Baton Rouge's daily newspaper on the upcoming Sun Belt season.

The Gnats had NCState on the ropes in Raleigh last season as well, should have won but completely choked. They were our conference champions, they were good, and they earned it. We'll see what happens this year with their slated schedule.

They said in the article, "Tough to say: Not only are the Eagles losing nine starters, but they also will have to play the upper-echelon teams from the conference. Their undefeated 2014 conference slate came against teams that went a combined 31-65."
Ahhh WRONG!!! They play the same teams as last year. App State plays the upper-echelon teams from the conference!!!

Oh I completely agree. We all, or at least I took GA Southern winning it all with a tiny grain of salt last year because they ducked the two best teams in the league. Stink very well could've beaten both - they were very good last year - but we'll never know.sixtoes9134 wrote:My primary point was that Georgia Southern is an easy pick for the #1 spot. 8-0 last year and same easy conference schedule. Even though they lost their entire O-line, except 1 guy I think, I don't see any reason they won't still be really good.APPdiesel wrote:Would you want it any other way? I for one would rather win a championship and have people say "they ran the gauntlet" instead of "yeah but they didn't play anybody".sixtoes9134 wrote:One thing is for sure, we have a tougher road to a conference championship than Southern
If we win conference, we have really accomplished something and that would be knocking off the Sun Belt's elite two years running.
