Even if we beat them more often than not, they'll win more of those battles as an FBS than they would in FCS, where we'll likely beat them for almost any recruit we want. That's just common sense. We are making hay in SC right now and a CCU move up would make that tougher.
It still doesn't change the fact CCU is the better add for the conference. In fact, it confirms it.
I don't disagree, that just wasn't the point of my post.

Their baseball facilities are very good, also new.

Not really a fan of them being in the conference though.
Yes, they did. I've been in their HTC Center. It's seating capacity is just about 3,200. It's nice enough, but if CCU grows as anticipated, it'll be extremely expensive to expand the seating. It's just not built in a way that it can be easily expanded. I think they'll outgrow it within the next ten years.

Any chance the billionaire football coach at CCU will pay out of his back pocket for improvements where needed. $100 million would not be a huge issue for him and could buy a decent football expansion and better basketball is that is needed.

It may be the wrong way to look at it, but knowing our long football history and dues paid, it's just a little hard to welcome CCU with open arms. EKU first fielded a football team in 1909, won 2 1-AA championships, and has appeared in six bowl games, while CCU didn't start football until 2003. I know you have to look forward, and at potential, but a relatively upstart Big South team is hardly a coup for the conference.
With that said, Mrytle Beach, lots of shiny new things, and travel proximity likely makes CCU the favorite.

Practically none, but CUSA made their criteria clear- large market. My comment pertained to my personal preferences regarding the resumes of the two schools being discussed- EKU and CCU.

If a vote comes to pass at tomorrow's meeting, either the matter gets tabled or CCU will be the selection.

I vote (not that my vote matters to SBC presidents/chancellors  ) to table the matter until the spring SBC meetings. CCU's football and basketball facilities are too small and not very conducive to major seating expansion. In fact, in the case of basketball, I think they'd have to build a new facility from scratch!
CCU has committed to expand to 25,000+ if invited. It could be done well before they finished the transition. Hoops arena is new but only about 4,000. Bigger than GSU though.

When was the last time we needed more than 4,000 ourselves, though I am glad we have room to grow attendance and hope it happens.
