Building the Fan Base
Re: Building the Fan Base
I have a son at ECU and I can tell ECU has done a great job of building a fan base in Eastern NC and now all over NC. I follow several Facebook pages for ASU and ECU and this week leading up to first games for both, ECU pages way out posted ASU pages with hype each day. Paint it PURPLE was everywhere, posted by many different pages yesterday for College Colors Day, sorry didn't see one post on Facebook or Instagram for BLACK AND GOLD yesterday. (Not on Twitter). Marketing has to improve on all media, use TV stations across the state to buy ad time, get people off the Mountain excited by using many different ways to build excitement. I had hoped for more from the new AD, but maybe it's too soon.

Re: Building the Fan Base
Last year I paid for my daughter's Student Yosef membership ($25) I don't think I remember giving them too much info beyond normal credit card info but they did look me up in the YC member roles and credited me as if this was a donation from me.
This year I did not get a reminder to renew for her, and maybe since so few parents did what I did they don't have it set up to ask me but I just asked my daughter and she did not get any sort of renewal/reminder notice either. She is in an apartment this year but she still has her ASU mail box that she uses.
I am not sure if we just were overlooked or non of the students were asked to renew. Seems to be a bit of a missed opportunity. Emails are essentially free once a form has been produced.
On a side note my birthday was Thursday and with the long weekend it would have been a good time to drive home. She is staying for the game and maybe the entire weekend. I'm ok with her staying for the game.

The lack of availability of App gear was not true during the Championship runs and the time around the Michigan win. It was available everywhere down the mountain. Concord and Charlotte were loaded.
