Clemson Experience

Unread post by AppDadx2 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 7:53 pm

I am a Clemson season ticket in addition to being an App State season ticket holder. I am a Clemson Alumni and my boys go to App State. I wanted to hear you thoughts on your day in Tigertown (ok, besides the outcome of the game).

I sincerely hope it was good. We do pride ourselves on being good hosts to visiting teams. We have those obnoxious few like every school but do hope it was a good day. Go Mountaineers!!!

I am an App grad and my son will be a freshman at Clemson next year. Wish App had engineering but I am pleased he will be going to Clemson. We tailgated with both App and Clemson folks and thoroughly enjoyed the day. My son and I walked around campus for a while and never experienced a single negative. Great time and a great weekend.

Other than having to park a long way from the stadium it was a great place. Na, I understand it takes a lot of space to park for a 81,000 seat place.
I had a blast. Nice talegate spot at the ymca center. The walk to the game was spent talking to Clemson fan base as we proudly wore our app gear. Not a single problem with any tiger fan. Even though we were upper deck in the double letter seats, the view of the game was great. Better than I expected.

All and all a great trip, minus the score.

Was great to see lots of the app nation in the sea of orange.

Not one snarky, obnoxious comment. None. We were amazed. Several Clemson fans said "Welcome to Clemson". Had a fist bump on the way out (easy to do when you're ahead by 30) but along with Montana, the best experience I've had.

My experience was great. We had one incident where a Clemson fan got angry at my group for stealing seats, but he calmed down after we showed our tickets and proved that the seats were ours. Other than that one comment all the Clemson fans around us were very hospitable and friendly.

Only non-score complaint was traffic. I left home at 8:00, got to town by 10:15. Finally got parked at 11:25. Fans were very classy and we all enjoyed the day.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

We had a great time in Clemson. We parked and walked, but that gave us a chance to see the campus. I liked the campus and the people were all nice. Like the others we did not have any negative encounters. The scenery was well above par too I might add. The stadium was easy to get in and out of. We went in to downtown, and took in the shops. Im still shocked that I didnt find anything with App on it (heh heh). After the game we walked back to the car and was on the road in less than 5 minutes. In all It was good for us. I would go back to see a game there even if App wasnt playing.

Fans were great. I have been to see App play at a lot of places and this maybe one of my best experiences yet. After a day like that it really makes me question why fans act like they do at Ga Southern and NC State. Clemson should be happy with their fans and the game day experience.

This game was my first road game with App State. I was very impressed. The Clemson campus is amazing and the walk from the parking areas was long but scenic.

I had time to set and watch the Clemson band perform on campus prior to the march to the stadium and enjoyed their performance.

The Tiger Walk and the entrance to Memorial Stadium with the Howard's Stone, the run down the hill, and the balloons was really the most amazing 25 seconds I have witnessed in college football.

I like the stadium experience and the Tiger on top of the scoreboard.

In reality your game day experience, the knowledge of the fans, and the entire day felt like we were at a SEC school. You all have the credentials. Other ACC schools should take notes.

Your fans were nice and did not say anything harsh or out of the way.

I was amazed and unfortunately blown away in the football field, but I will pull for the Tigers the rest of the season. I am very pleased to have watched a game there. One of my college football bucket list items crossed off my list. A++++ 5 Star Experience

Our group had a very good experience at Clemson. Not a negative comment all day from the Tiger faithful and really enjoyed the group of Tiger fans around us. Many "Welcome to Clemson" comments and a few fans with questions about our team, university, etc. Rates up there with Michigan for fan friendliness. We had to hoof it a distance to the stadium but I pretty much expected that but did get to park for free which was unexpected. We arrived from ATL around 9am and departed after the game was over and had only the expected issues with traffic and certainly no worse that Boone after a home game.

Would love to go back as I'm sure our players would like another shot too.

It was the third time I have watched the Apps play at Clemson (83, 97, 15) and I had a great time as usual. I just hope one day we can go in there and come out with a W.

My 4 game at Clemson (3 App games and a Thursday Night game vs GT 2 years ago) and the experience was good every time. Plenty of good comments from Tiger fans and nothing negative. I am friends with and work with a good number of Clemson fans since I live in Charlotte, and to a person they all had good things to say about our team and fans.

I've said it before that App and Clemson have a lot of similarities. Both schools are basically the same size, located in small college towns, crazy about football, and have similar fan bases. Hopefully we can continue to play in the coming years as it is a great location for our fans to travel to. Good luck the rest of the year.

Thanks for the feedback. I really love the experience at App and Clemson. I have enjoyed my games in Boone, I thought this would be my last year but I think I will keep donating and enjoying Mountaineer football.

Great experience!

Loved your stadium. It is on caliber with numerous top level pro football stadiums. I am very envious and hope we have something similar at some distant future point in time.

People/fans were very hospitable.

Beautiful campus.

Only recommendation would be to have better food at stadium. Very few choices and basically disappointing.

Everything else was great.

With the exception of Woodlands and the apple pies, I feel the same way about our food options.

Speaking of Clemson, hope they beat Louisville tonight by at least 31 points.

It looks very similar to our game except Lville has hit a few passes, and not given them points and short fields. The Tiger OL has work to do.
