"Spirit under the Stars
8:30 – 11:30 pm
Holmes Convocation Center
* This is the BIG event of the evening. Bring everyone you know to enjoy the Pep Rally, live band, food, and inflatables. There’s something for everyone, so don’t miss out! The bonfire and fireworks will be rescheduled for a later date"
This event has been moved to the Holmes Center, so does this cancel the beer Garden?

Not according to this. Looks like the Beer Garden is still on.

BOONE—Due to inclement weather, three Friday night homecoming events have been moved from outdoor locations to the Holmes Convocation Center.
Events that will now be held in the Holmes Convocation Center are AppToberfest (which includes the alumni beer garden) starting at 6:30 p.m., the kazoo band contest starting at 7:30 p.m. and Spirit Under the Stars (which includes a live band, food, inflatables and the homecoming pep rally) starting at 8:30 p.m.
The homecoming parade will continue as planned through downtown Boone from 5:45-6:45 p.m., rain or shine.

Re: "ApptoberFest" Alumni Beer Garden
Have been to several stadiums where beer was sold. Crowd appeared appreciative of the fact they could have a beer in the stadium. Also fans would come to the stadium earlier and not feel the need to slam down multiple beers before they come in. When you treat adults as adults, I believe the majority will behave as adults. Hard for me to believe this is discussed in Boone as many of us remember driving to Blowing Rock to purchase beer. That only made drinking more fun and did nothing to curb consumption.
