Apps Defense and Gibbs, I told you he would have a pick six

Unread post by WVAppsfan » Sun Oct 04, 2015 12:20 pm

The defense continues to impress me, the O Line of Wyoming is BIG and fast. The unit played solid. John Law, Mondo Williams, and Dada are tight. Down the road of the Sunbelt play they will be the reason for wins.

And as I posted last week Gibbs is a stud and he had his pick six I called for.

Bring on the team from Atlanta.

I liked the defensive adjustments we made, bend
But don't break. Wyo had some good runs and good
Yardage but could not score.

Good early call, and it came at a great time. A possible tie turned into a 14-0 lead. If that bunch had gained confidence early, it could have been a very close one.
Still proud of the D for hanging tough, but we've got to tackle better and make stops on 3rd down. Most teams aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot like Wyoming did.

The D has two shutouts, and even in the Clemson game they played tough. They have played well, through the entire last half of the season last year and through the first quarter of the season this year. Wait until the real bulk of the conference play. They will be the story of the Sun Belt. Like Fletwood Mac sis, Don't Stop Believing.

This was the first time this season we've had numerous missed tackles so I'm going to write those off to the very nasty weather and the fact Wyoming had a horse of a running back. Good teams win when they are supposed to and, if not for a trash time TD, the score would have been 31-7. I looked at this game a lot like how we played Clemson. We all know we played Clemson tighter than score indicated as Wyoming did us, BUT the teams that win make the losing teams pay dearly for their mistakes. I'm quite happy with a 3-1 record right now.

If I'm not mistaken we are 9-1 over the past 10 games, das goot!
