Re: ga st discussion
Yeah, it's been pretty dead. On the one hand, the team played exactly like we thought they should, so nothing to complain about. On the other, there's not much to bitch about outside of performance...cups with ice, bbq, etc. I'm convinced the whole Molly Cotton argument is withdrawal-people don't know how to respond when nothing is going off the rails.
Give 'em hell!
Re: ga st discussion
ya, I was also surprised by the lack of talk, I guess we gotten alittle spoiled, if there is nothing to complain about, then not worth posting.

Some of the message board's issues of late may be keeping posters away too. If nothing else it serves as a complaining opportunity.

I have to agree. It was a solid win but, not being able to stay away from ads on my iphone has kept me from posting until today.ASU-FTW wrote:Some of the message board's issues of late may be keeping posters away too. If nothing else it serves as a complaining opportunity.

Re: ga st discussion
Well I'll say it. Glad Taylor had a good game. My concern is this. The TD to Simms should have been intercepted. The DB overran the pass. Receivers had to wait on deep balls. It concerns me as our competition level gets better.

Re: ga st discussion
IMO, he looked a lot better that game. That was the only noticeable pass he under-threw. In his post game interview he mentioned the opening play pass to Jones, he wasn't aware of how much separation was there and he just took the completion. As we all know, he is very "heady" and tends to make more strategic throws than just sling them (I also think that gets in his way sometimes).
I personally think his arm looked a lot stronger that game (as it should be without rain). He led most of the receivers and made better decisions to overthrow a couple, to avoid the pick. He also made a very nice back-shoulder pass to Jones on the sideline.
I think he has a ways to go, but we should be fine with him given the talent pool at the receiver position; especially on the outside. Crossing routes are either great for him or terrible; that is throw that scares me against better defenses.
I guess we will see........

Re: ga st discussion
It was a solid win. I think the other factor that made it seem sort of ho-hum was the atmosphere.
A+ for the defense, and we're probably taking them for granted a bit.
Very good special teams as well.
I'd probably give the offense a B. They did what they needed to and then some, obviously. They showed once again that they can beat you a number of different ways. But the red-zone troubles and the lack of big plays from the RBs kept them from being truly dominant.

If you are on a moblie device try Tapatalk. Ads are inserted here and there but they are not intrusive. I had to quit using the web based Yosef Cabin (especially at work) because ads would blast in full volume. No problem with Tapatalk.AtlAppMan wrote:Ads are not just annoying, they make unuseable

Re: ga st discussion
Some of our running issues and therefore red zone issues were likely due to the OL being very banged up. Collins and Harris weren't even going to play as of Friday.

Re: ga st discussion
The Apps came to ATL and did what they were expected to do. Grade wise I would give:
Defense = A Hard to find fault with a 250 yard, 3 point performance. The tackling was 100% better than against Wyoming and there were some real bone crunchers too.
Offense = B Once again hard to find fault with a 498 yard performance but the running game could have been a little stronger and there was the one interception. Loved the way the WR's went after the ball in the air.
Special teams = A Much improved over last season and Matics has been really good. 3-3 on field goals and most kickoffs were unreturnable. Bentley kicked one bomb as well.
Next week will be a much bigger challenge but if Apps defense can keep playing at this level they will be in every ballgame.

Tapatalk SUCKS! You have to go through a whole rigamarole to find all the threads. I hate it. Like others, I don't get on as much as I used to because the phone is unuseable. I just pop on when I'm at my desktop and have a few minutes.

With Tapatalk, I just use the Unread tab/section and read everything like that. Creating threads is a bit more of a hassle, but it's worth it for the speed of checking the board. The ignore feature isn't currently working on here, though I tried it on another forum I read through Tapatalk and it works there.AppinATL wrote: Tapatalk SUCKS! Re: ga st discussion
The back shoulder pass to Malachi was one of the best pass/catch plays you'll see. Probably one of the closest to perfect passes Taylor has ever thrown. Malachi's anticipation was great to trust that the ball would be there and he was even able to get a little YAC up the sideline. Thing of beauty.

Re: ga st discussion
Taylor played well. Aside from the poor decision on trying to fit a throw into a very tight window, he made some great decisions.
The defense is playing lights out. I know that the schedule hasn't been great, but we are not allowing our opponents to do what they do best.
