As previously stated, I'll be heading out before the butt crack of dawn on Thursday from Charlotte Hall, Maryland. However, I forgot to mention my wife and son are coming as well. We will be attending the game with my brother and his crew of four (they live in Vilas).

Thursday night will demonstrate the depth of our fan base. We have known about this game since February. There will always be legitimate reasons why someone can't make it. So, we can't begrudge those who are in such a situation. But I would hope those who can make it, make the effort to be there. If several thousand Eagle fans make the trip and we fail to fill up KBS, that will resonate with the bowl reps.

Obviously there will be people like Scat that have legit reasons like work. An excuse would be someone saying they'll stay home because they'll be tired the next day.

And yes, we have to put on a good showing for the bowl reps from Orlando and Mobile.

The line has dropped with more money being bet on The Gumroots, I just have a feeling that App is going to stomp a mud hole in them... We have too much offense for them to contain for 4 quarters and our defensive is ready this year...Looking for a double digit win....That's right

People seem to forget the betting line is just a number Vegas pulls out of the ether to get an equal number of bets on both sides of the line. It's not a score prediction.

Unfortunately, no. KBS capacity is 23,150. Included in that number are approximately 9,000 seats reserved for students. That means we only have around 14,000 seats to sell to the public. If the number is 3,000 left, that means paying fans COMBINED us and Georgia Southern have only consummed roughly 11,000 tickets.

Since we allot so many tickets to students we need them in full force and then some to hit capacity.

That's one of the saddest things I've ever read. It's so strange to me that ODU values their athletics programs more than we do. I'm not even here for the football. I'm here because this is the best way to celebrate the Appalachian community as a whole and football provides a great outlet for that. I wish more people could understand the big picture here, but the idea that athletics is too big for its britches is unsettlingly pervasive.

Leaving Asheville at lunch on Thursday.

Same here. The crew I usually tailgate with is going up Wednesday and tailgating with other friends, so I'll be a party of one for tailgating ... but a party of 12 or more for cheering.

Since I'm a pretty good cook (never trust a skinny one!), I may just make pecan pies and / or pound cakes and wander around until I find someone who will take in a tailgate orphan.

Two of us are heading up on Wednesday afternoon. Can't wait to see App Nation turn out in full force (even though there are some tickets left at this time). I get the feeling that this will be a lot like playoff atmosphere. We may have a few less attendees than on a Saturday afternoon kick but those in attendance will be LOUD and PROUD ! Go App !
