I thought Benson came from the WAC after WAC football imploded.

Chip Patterson (@chip_patterson) from CBS Sports was on with Mark Sturgis from ESPN Upstate (Greenville/Spartanburg) today, and he was actually at the game last Thursday, and had nothing but great things to say about App. He hammered home the "App contends they've only had one bad quarter all season giving up 28 to Clemson" and praising the App defense for completely disrupting what Georgia Southern wanted to do.

At 18-1, I think we're well past the point of App and Southern needing to prove themselves to the rest of the Sun Belt. Love the attn, love that App State is getting AP Votes, thrilled to see they are the #3 ranked school in NC for Football...hopefully it will reflect with the recruiting.
Since the GaSo win, local Sports Radio (ESPN 730) with Rosinski and 610 with Kroeger, both App Grads, have been filling the airwaves. Hope it continues, they run through the Sunbelt this season, and seasons moving forward.
They can't control HOW good the Sun Belt is... but they can control how good they look while beating them.
