MSoc in Sun Belt Soccer Tourney--In Progress--Ted Mac Field

Apps and NJIT in 1-1 tie match in 61st minute. NJIT is playing the remainder of the game one man down after a late first-half RC. Definite advantage to ASU; but ya gotta SCORE SOME GOALS IN REGULATION to put it away. We do not want to end up in extra time under any circumstances.

Apps presently not taking advantage of the "gift" they've been handed!

App goes up 2-1 on a header off a penalty kick.

17 min to go.

Apps take 2-1 lead on an Alex Beranger goal off of a set piece and an assist from Alex Herbst in the 75th minute.

Apps almost make it 3-1 in the last seconds, but do move on.

Has our passing been that terrible the whole season? We had a man advantage and pass after pass straight into defender's feet. A win is a win but dang!

Final Apps 2 - NJIT 1

#4 seed Apps into semis tomorrow against the #1 seed and defending champs from Hartwick.

I was underwhelmed by the team's play; but it's a "W."

When you start 4 freshmen, 3 of those in the all important holding mid and attacking mid positions, it will be ugly. We were given a gift tonight from NJIT. I don't think Harwick will be so giving tomorrow night. Experience means everything when tournament time rolls around. But, anything can happen.

It's hard to get excited about a win over NJIT, but as someone else said, it is a win and we do advance. It will be tough playing back to back games, which will be a clear advantage for Harwick. Better find someone to mark, as these guys seem to thrive off set pieces.
