Oh god just stop. The UNC hate on this board is just pathetic sometimes.
THe biggest academic fraud in the history of college sports and it's just UNC hate? That's hilarious. [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]
I think what he's trying to say is bringing it up, throwing it out there over and over and over again comes across as jealous little brothers trying to bring the bigger brother down. Fact: UNC accomplished that feat themselves, they were busted, they were punished, they served out their punishment. It's time to move on. Continuing to bring it up does NOTHING to bring them down but everything to bring the outside perception of App fans down. This is how fan bases get generalized as unsavory, rude, and arrogant.

Except there has been no punishment. The NCAA hasn't ruled yet. I don't care who it was that perpetrated the fraud. It just happens to have been UNC-CH. I am interested in what the NCAA does to one of its cash cows, or if it does anything at all. My belief is that they will get away with because of who they are, and that would be my belief if it had been Duke or Kentucky or Alabama.

I was thinking specifically of the scandal and subsequent infractions that resulted in them vacating all 2008 and 2009 wins, scholarship reductions, a 2 year probations, and a 3 year post season ban. Understood there have been more system - wide infractions since but I was focusing just on football...because after all this is a football message board.

I agree that there needs to be some kind of institutional punishment and maybe some scholarship reductions or whatever but it makes no sense to punish a bunch of kids that had nothing to do with the infractions with a postseason ban or the like. The teams that are there now have all done it the right way. Congrats to them for having a great football season for the first time in a long time. The fact that some here continue to whine about it just screams of little brother syndrome and jealousy. It's pathetic.

Quite frankly Scarlett I don't give a damn.....about what happens at UNC. Just as soon see us quit having A discussion about it. To Quote Mr Wonderful: "They are dead to me"

I was reading this somewhat interesting thread Saturday night and even commented. Had not been on the site since this morning- was taking in the Redskin beat down yesterday in Charlotte. At any rate I pulled up this thread, skipped to the third page and did a double take. I wondered how on earth could a conversation about Stink blowing a game to GA become another mindless discussion about Carolina's scandal from several years ago? I agree, let it go.

On a side note.... I ran into a long time friend who is also a VA Tech lifelong season ticket holder and attended the Tarheel/Hokie game Saturday to honor Coach Beamer. His unsolicited comment was that the UNC fans were the biggest A-holes to ever come as visiting fans to Blacksburg.

I felt like he was bobbling that last touchdown. Hated to see Beamer go out like that.

Having lived in Virginia since 1999, I can say a Tech fan should know A-hole fans. They are a combination of the best down to earth folks you'll ever find, and gumroot fans on steroids. I hang around the down to earth folks, and ignore the rest.
