We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Shamefully I just noticed the date and won't be able to go. If only they'd done any other Saturday next year.

Waiting for single game tickets could be risky as I would expect season ticket sales to explode with the Canes on the schedule.Yosef10 wrote:When would single game tickets for this game go on sale?
Also, it shouldn't matter how well their fans travel we should have a record crowd with just App people.

About six months after full and half season tickets go on sale. And I hope they offer single ticket sales at least two weeks in advance to season ticket holders, just another perk of being a season ticket holder.Yosef10 wrote:When would single game tickets for this game go on sale?

Re: Hosting "The U"
There will be single game tickets available. Season ticket sales aren't going to jump enough to not leave any single game tickets. Other than Miami we don't play many great teams at home in 2016. Even our conference schedule will have us traveling away for games against the top of the conference.
Season ticket sales will be up, but I wouldn't imagine a major swing. Can't see many more people committing to 6 games all to be guaranteed a ticket for the Miami game. Now, half season packages I can see jumping big time. Especially the one that includes the Miami game.

Re: Hosting "The U"
I hope with Miami next year and Wake in '17, we double the number of season ticket holders. That would put us just at 9,000. I also hope this propels us to raise an additional $2 million in Yosef funds. That is what we need to fully fund scholly's.

Re: Hosting "The U"
Congratulations to Doug and the staff!!!!! So it took us two years at the FBS level to secure the first Home P5 game. Well done. It is hard to see how we don't set a new single game attendance record. One can certainly envision seeing more temporary bleachers in the end zones. It will be interesting to see if we can sell 35k or more. It will also increase season ticket sales... my guess somewhere around 25-50% off current level. Man, 2016 has shaped up to be one heck of a season and will do wonders for our SOS. This is a very winnable game. It was nice to hear SS's comments on using this game for recruiting purposes. Again, a big tip of the cap to our athletic administration.

Re: Hosting "The U"
This a great get for App. Will we use the U as leverage to gain increase in season tickets sales? Gillen said our sales for this year was 4,500 (BTW, I have had season tickets for years) which is a disappointing number to me. What do you guys think?

4,500 is very disappointing. I thought for sure we were about 6k.appsfan wrote:This a great get for App. Will we use the U as leverage to gain increase in season tickets sales? Re: Hosting "The U"
Well mid September is not leaf season and Miami does not travel all that well. I'm sure there will be a decent amount of orange in the stadium but I don't expect a big turnout from them.S.Lewis15 wrote:There will be a lot of Miami fans in Boone for this game.
Have you seen the amount of Florida license plates in Boone during Leaf season? A football game against Miami just gives then another excuse to travel to Boone. 30K+ will be in attendance.
Either way it could be a record setter.

Thanks for the link Hap. Lots of good nuggets in there. Sounds like Doug has noticed the empty seats on the east side and may consider not putting the temp north endzone bleachers up (I would imagine they be there for the first two games next season).hapapp wrote:Great interview will Doug Gillin at the Scout site.

Also sounded like he didn't like the idea of mini-season packages.
Every time I hear an interview with him he reaffirms my thoughts that the demand isn't there in his mind to add non-premium seating given the current demand.
The next part is my speculation: For those hoping to get tickets for this game you better sign up for season ticket or be pretty good friends with someone that is because they are going to take care of the students and give them 8-10k seats, give Miami 2k tickets, season tickets will increase, and they will open up single game tickets sales to season ticket holders first.
Do the math and there won't be more than 5k single game tickets available to non-season ticket holders (and those will be in the grass).

More disappointing is I believe I heard him say there are only a couple thousand that contribute to Yosef. Someone correct me if I heard that wrong.AppDawg wrote:4,500 is very disappointing. Re: Hosting "The U"
I can't see the speculation part of your post playing out Saint. I know the Bamas of the world have people buy season tickets just for one game but I don't think we'll have a whole lot of that going on. Let's go by the idea that 8-10k students get seats, I'll be generous and say we jump from 4500 to 6000 season tickets and 2000 go to Miami. At the high end that still leaves 6000+ and that's not including the hill, which I think will be filled with students. It will be a tough ticket to get, no doubt, but I don't think you'll automatically be stuck with a seat on the hill if you're not a season ticket holderSaint3333 wrote:Thanks for the link Hap. Re: Hosting "The U"
I would be very surprised if it was not a sellout but I just don't see big numbers from Miami.
On a separate note our season ticket sales are pitiful. I was very surprised and discouraged by the number.
