Re: Our SOS or our friend?
At this point our SOS. Beating Clemson would be a huge win for our friend but not even that would get him that job so let's hope he lands a good job somewhere else.

Re: Our SOS or our friend?

Great thread. Just saw it (post USC/Clem game). We discussed this for about 30 mins earlier. My take: Elliot lost his chance to get the job last weekend against El Cid. Makes it easy. Go Clemson.
And I hope they win 1,000-0 next weekend in Charlotte for many reasons.

Clemson did hold off Carolina, and the discussion is now purely academic.huskie3 wrote:That game is not until Dec 5 and we have no friend at Carolina , I will pull for Clemson!
I was pulling for Shawn, simply because I think a win for him would have done more good for him than harm to our SOS.
My take is that once a G5 team is bowl eligible, unless they are on the bubble for the Access Bowl, SOS doesn't matter that much, particularly since bowl sponsors don't seem to consider SOS as the most important factor. They can choose and have chosen matchups based upon, say, which teams will bring the most fans to a bowl venue.
Am I wrong?
BTW, title should have been "Deshaun or Shawn" to avoid confusion!

The question was Carolina not South Carolina. I am sure the majority of us would be pulling for Shawn.

The guys in Chapel Hill aren't the only "Carolina".bcoach wrote:The question was Carolina not South Carolina. I am sure the majority of us would be pulling for Shawn.

Well 99% of the free world thinks so. Now I can't stand them but that's the way it is. I would never hang Carolina on a good guy like Shawn.sonsofyosef wrote:The guys in Chapel Hill aren't the only "Carolina".bcoach wrote:The question was Carolina not South Carolina.
