According to this article, the fact that App is already playing a game in Mobile this month was taken into consideration.AppSt94 wrote:It's possible that we were passed over for the GoDaddy because of ticket sales. We are playing USA in Mobile this weekend and to make the trip back to the same stadium in a matter of weeks may not be enticing.

Re: Camelia Bowl
Hotel is booked for us too. Can't wait.
I've stayed in the Hampton Inn once before. There's a couple good restaurants, including a bbq joint and a sports bar, in walking distance.

Re: Camelia Bowl
We're staying at the Fairfield a few miles outside of town. There were only 3 rooms left when we booked so it sounds like App fas are taking over. The MAC school might not have many rooms left by the time they're announced.

Re: Camelia Bowl
This game should be drivable for most fans, even those that need to drive to Montgomery by leaving home early Saturday. Its the exact same weekend as the Chattanooga Championship games. Ticket prices are very reasonable. Hotel rooms are reasonable. There's great opportunity here to establish the App State brand for future bowls. If folks are on the fence they need to jump off and jump on the App bandwagon to Montgomery.

Re: Camelia Bowl
I noticed that two of the closest downtown hotels (Hampton Inn and Doubletree) are reported to be sold out for Friday night. Could it be that these two hotels are reserved for the two participating teams and their fans? I was just wondering if their would be a hotel for the Yosef Club members and/or fans to stay at the team motel and this would be announced later with a Group Rate. Haven't booked my room yet because i was planning on a day trip but now my companion wants to go down on Friday and party with other App fans.

Re: Camelia Bowl
Just booked at the Sleep Inn on Carmichael Rd., 4.5 miles from the stadium. Was hoping to get something within walking distance, but all the really close places are booked, and a couple that were about a mile and a half away looked a little dicey. Figure I'll keep checking in case something else opens up closer.
I'm going stag, so will definitely be interested in any group events Friday night or pregame/postgame Saturday.

I've had a room at the Hampton for nearly 2 months. Hope there will be a ton of App fans there.AtlantaMountaineer wrote:I noticed that two of the closest downtown hotels (Hampton Inn and Doubletree) are reported to be sold out for Friday night. We are at the Hampton as well. Is it real BBQ or that Ketchup based spew?

We're booked at the Hampton as well, but I''ll warn you about the bar-b-que, it's Alabama you may wish for the tomato based if they serve the nasty mayonnaise based sauce that seems to be a delicacy down there.mike87 wrote:AppRy wrote:Hotel is booked for us too. Can't wait.
