Re: Ohio
Meh. 6th place MAC team. Benson really needs to do a better job with these bowl tie-ins. The SBC will never "rise" playing middle of the pack G5's in our conference affiliated bowl games.
Nonetheless, we play the cards that are dealt. Let's skin a bobcat... We have some practice with that, ain't nothing but a glorified catamount!

Re: Ohio
Well, trading GoDaddy for Camellia was going to bring a downgrade in the opposition. Though, Ohio will not be a pushover.

Re: Ohio
Not the sexiest of opponents but they will come to play and we need to enjoy the bowl experience and take care of business on December 19th! Looking forward to this trip with my son!
Re: Ohio
Ohio is a solid team which finished with the 3rd best overall record in their conference at 8-4. Ohio also has a good fanbase. Look forward to our first bowl game. Should be a competitive game (and a winnable one)!

Honestly, I do not care who we play! Just happy being able to see this team play all year and watching this football program grow!

Re: Ohio
Interesting to look at their attendance figures, pretty close to ours. In many ways, this is a perfect match up in terms of the competitive nature of the game.

Re: Ohio
They do have the 45th ranked rushing offense in the nation, we however have the 6th ranked rushing offense.
We have the 12th ranked defense in the nation...... they have the 49th ranked defense.
We have the 26th ranked offense in the nation...... they have the 47th ranked offense....
With all that said, these guys are not Appalachian State. They might be the 3rd ranked MAC team, but they would lose to half of the sunbelt. We should slaughter them, if we are healthy and can stay healthy.

One of these days I want to share what it is you seem to be smoking half the time. You say the darndest things.ASUTodd wrote:They do have the 45th ranked rushing offense in the nation, we however have the 6th ranked rushing offense.

AppinATL...... not sure why you think that's the darndest thing..... Their wins aren't impressive and they rank below us in every category. If we are healthy this won't be close.

Re: Ohio
Ill also add this.... the top half of the sunbelt is as follows:
Ark ST
App St
Ga South
GA State
South Alabama
They beat Idaho, who is right there in the rankings with South Alabama. South Alabama is a good team that has had some bad breaks and almost beat us. Each one of the teams I just listed would beat Ohio. I don't think that it is crazy to think that either.

Re: Ohio
I am super excited about this game though. Ohio is a fast team that will be tough to beat but by no means unbeatable! This will be a quality win for us, should we win, and will give us 11 wins on the season, first Sunbelt team to do that! Im stoked!

Re: Ohio
How many wins do we have against teams with a winning record? To suggest we should slaughter them is, quite frankly, laughable.ASUTodd wrote:AppinATL...... not sure why you think that's the darndest thing..... Re: Ohio
We have two weeks to heal up and rest. That ought to be plenty of time for us to get our guys back from injuries and be ready to go. Our defense, at full strength, can run with the best in the country. These guys are not a big high powered offense. I guess we will see on the 19th of Dec.
