Bowl Payouts

Unread post by hapapp » Mon Dec 07, 2015 12:51 pm

Found this tidbit about how the SBC covers its bowl participants expenses.

http://www.foxsports.com/college-footba ... lay-120615

"The Sun Belt Conference, the weakest of the 10 FBS leagues, three years ago put in place a policy that gives each bowl team $250,000 for expenses in addition to the cost of transportation to and from the bowl site. Teams have no ticket obligation and receive 50 percent of the revenue from tickets they sell. The other half goes to the conference.

''All revenue generated from all bowls will be put toward all bowl expenses,'' Sun Belt spokesman John McElwain wrote in an email. ''Any `out of pocket' ticket purchase requirement absorbed by the conference is included in the bowl expenses.''

Thanks for the clarification, I have always thought fledgling was a negative term that meant mediocre or up and down.

While I don't think it was a great choice of word, I stand corrected and was wrong. I detract my idiot comment and will in this instance apply that to myself.

Well we seem to be focused on the wrong portion of this message.

"Teams have no ticket obligation and receive 50 percent of the revenue from tickets they sell."

Thanks Hap for posting.

So if App sells it's 7k ticket allotment, our program would receive $87,500?
