Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
OK folks, 10 wins and SOLE possession of 2nd. After Stinks performance, the No Daddy Bowl can have them. We are going to Montgomery to see if #11 can lead us to win #11. No Christmas Eve travel. $80 + a ticket gets you a ride to ASU football history. ALL Aboard!

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
** SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE **
As of 7:00am, I have 36 confirmed. Waiting for confirmation on one party with up to six.
There are two that have offered to buy an extra seat to make this happen.
We're 10-2, finished second in the conference and going to our first FBS bowl. I know the Saturday before Christmas is a busy time with family, friends, parades, parties, etc. However, this quick turnaround is a great way to be part of an historic moment for App Football.
I hope to be laying on a beach next summer and thinking, "I'm glad I went to the bowl game." So, if you're on the fence about this, give it some hard thought.

I'm 99% leaning towards taking the bus. I'll email you by this afternoon for sure.
Give 'em hell!

I appreciate the effort. I will seriously consider this option. Keep us advised of how it is going.

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
Great job on this Steve!--- I will say IMO, I hope the athletics department will attempt to organize a bit better going forward and, yes, I know this is our 1st bowl, but even without knowing the EXACT bowl there could have been "INFO" tents set up at last home game with plans to do a "down and back" charter bus, a more affordable charter plane package, hotel information from each potential bowl city etc... Doesn't have to be concrete. Set up a specific "Bowl Hot-line" for folks to call because some still prefer to speak to someone instead of searching the world wide web. If for nothing else just to let folks know "we've thought of everything".
I don't intend this as a criticism, just suggestive for future years.

The Athletic Dept should have done way more in advance to get buses from Boone Winston Charlotte Greensboro.....

Now I read about what Ohio is doing for their students... Bus trip, night's lodging and ticket for $50. Seems to me that could have been announced something similar for App students the day of official bowl announcement. I truly hope there's something in place before students leave for break... It's important a large number of students be there!

I don't want to pile on too much, but the university should have done much, much more than just offer an unaffordable charter flight to the bowl game. I know Ohio has been there and done that before, but our efforts look pretty feeble compared to what they are doing.

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
Agreed. I was going to fly down and stay in a hotel until I decided to take the bus. My wife and I talked about options and we decided if the school offered a trip with flight for $1k, I would just do that. Talk about sticker shock! I was going to do the trip on my own for $900 (not including food). $1700 was plain out of touch stupid. The school should be working to get everyone there, not just the high rollers.appst89 wrote:I don't want to pile on too much, but the university should have done much, much more than just offer an unaffordable charter flight to the bowl game. Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
Completely agree the athletic department can do more for next year. Like others have stated there should be a bus trip for students and another for fans. These trips should include game tickets, bus, and a meal or two. If the bowl is further away like Mobile or New Orleans have a hotel option as well.YesAppCan wrote:Great job on this Steve!--- I will say IMO, I hope the athletics department will attempt to organize a bit better going forward and, yes, I know this is our 1st bowl, but even without knowing the EXACT bowl there could have been "INFO" tents set up at last home game with plans to do a "down and back" charter bus, a more affordable charter plane package, hotel information from each potential bowl city etc... It would also be good to know the likely hotels the teams will be in so people could stay there. Each bowl should know which hotel the Sun Belt rep will stay at well in advance. A list of all area hotels close to the game and dinning options in advance for each city would be helpful as well. The local visitors bureau's will be glad to give out this info.

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
They better act fast as exams are this week and hotels are filling up quickly. They might have to do a down and back type of trip at this point. If they do this the buses should also stop in Charlotte as there are a ton of students from this area that will have already left Boone for break.YesAppCan wrote:Now I read about what Ohio is doing for their students...
