Re: Tickets yet?
Not yet. I did speak with someone this morning in ticket office. She told me that we will likely have a "will call" window to go to in Montgomery and they will likely not get mailed out to us.

Re: Tickets yet?
Got ya... learning a new dance App admin folks are... lot's of room for improvement already... I'm disturbed by the lack of foresight (or as far as I can tell, standing on the outside looking in mind you) for getting student packages for the game... etc..and other sort of packages for alumni that don't cost an arm and a leg.
But, at least we don't have ECU's AD... (needed that twist in the road). Onward and upward we'll go. Just saying.

Re: Tickets yet?
Several things to remember here -
1) the pre-order process was in place for both Yosef points and "selling" our crowd to various bowls - it also gave the ticket office a clue as to what to expect - no pre-order=more scrambling for the ticket office,
2) yesterday was the first day the ticket office could sell for certain for a particular bowl,
3) mailing anything in mass quantities takes substantial time and effort - it's not as mechanical / computerized as any of us would want to believe,
4) the ticket office permanent staff is relatively small and was reduced by one FTE when Whitey left earlier this season - to my knowledge, a permanent head of the ticket office hasn't been named yet,
5) mailing at Christmas time can be iffy - why chance having someone not get their tickets?
Those are just the "off the top of my head" logistical issues that present themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if there's will call available on Friday evening at a team hotel / central location.
Let's remember that the last time our ticket office had this sort of rodeo to run was 2007 and cut them a little slack. After all, we're going bowling with our Mountaineer family! It doesn't get much more fun than that!

Re: Tickets yet?
If there isn't an option to print at home, I'd like to see a table at the team hotel Friday for ticket pickup. Rather not have them mailed and have to worry about getting them on time.

Re: Tickets yet?
The "print from home" option doesn't exist for tickets purchased through the App ticket office because the tickets they have are very likely real paper tickets. Imagine the fun of ensuring online functionality with any number of schools in anticipation of self-service ticketing through the school.Wally wrote:Why can't we just choose to print our tickets from home? Folks, it's best for our student-athletes that we purchase our tickets through the App ticket office. It ensures that each App fan "counts" in the way any financial rewards are divvied out while also solidifying our attractiveness for future bowl invitations.
Please understand that the ticket office will do all they can do to make sure that you and yours sit where you want to sit and get your tickets to you as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Being a little patient won't hurt any of us ... I promise.

Will call is fine with me. I do it for every event I go to if it's an option. There's never a bad line regardless of the event.

Re: Tickets yet?
I understand the need to purchase through the University, but I sure hope we have a solid plan for distribution that doesn't cause fans to miss kickoff... I will be one ticked off Mountaineer if I miss the first part of the game because I can't get my ticket in time. An option to pick up on Friday night in Montgomery, or even having tickets available in Boone for pickup over the next week sound like good options to me.DaphneUrquhart wrote:The "print from home" option doesn't exist for tickets purchased through the App ticket office because the tickets they have are very likely real paper tickets. Re: Tickets yet?
When I went to the Belk Bowl in 2012, the Iron Dukes sent the tickets FedEx, but that game was on December 27, so they had more time.
Some of the options are out of the University's control. Print at home also depends on the bowl organizers distribution and ticketing capabilities at the venue. I'm OK with whatever the ticket office determines is their best course of action and will adjust my activities accordingly (Will Call window may mean cutting tailgate early).
Would I prefer a print at home option? Absolutely, that's the option I always chose, if its available, for everything but flying (digital boarding passes).
Would a Will Call table on Friday night somewhere in downtown be a convenience I would use? Most certainly, and I hope they set one up.
Is it a big deal if I have to wait until game day to stand in a Will Call line? Nah, not really, just not the preferred method from a fan perspective.

Re: Tickets yet?
I was curious about the situation so I asked the ticket office. There will be an email and website update later this week. It looks as if there will be a couple of times set up for pickup with a final one at gate 8 on Saturday. Sounds like they are trying to make it as hassle free as possible with the short turn around. Is it game time yet??!!!

Re: Tickets yet?
A way to remedy headache with this will call is to make it open all day on 18 and 19 if possible maybe from 9 to game time ? Problem with championship game was it did not open till couple hours before the start.

Re: Tickets yet?
The only time I've ever had a real problem with will call was at GaSo a few years ago. Our group got to the will call area an hour before kickoff and missed the first 5 minutes of the game. Maybe "The Stink" planned it that way.

Re: Tickets yet?
Has anyone actually been charged for their tickets? Looked earlier today and I had not been charged yet.
