Help me understand exactly how some of you big NIL proponents believe it would work at App. How much money would it take (theoretically) to get us to whatever plateau is expected here. I’m really not trying to be argumentative nor am I pointing the finger at anyone here. I just read that it’s going to take money to turn the program back around. Are we talking an extra million, 5 million, 10 million a year? Even with a pot of cash someone still has to convince several top athletes to skip going to half a dozen Big10, 8 different SEC, several ACC or Big12 schools. How deep is the top talent pool? Would the plan be to pay 10 studs and expect 75 to simply play better?

Is this post a joke?AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 14, 2025 10:16 amThis is not a rant, an attempt to shame anyone or call anyone out so please I hope no one takes this personal. I realize that people have their own lives and stuff going on and disposable discretionary income is different for everyone.
The App ticket office sold 40 tickets for this game through the school. The majority of the folks there were parents and player family, so 40 fans. That’s disappointing for such a passionate fanbase. I realize that it’s not a close trip but it’s a place we rarely visit. The kids deserve better.

A ton of teams look horrible. Notre Dame is 0-2. Clemson stinks. Florida is bad. South Carolina got destroyed. The ACC is a joke…etc.
I think we will be okay. Sure, we used to win games before we started but now each game is a 50/50 toss up. If we can get Swann healthy, the OL to block and 2 wide receivers back we will be okay. We move the ball at will, just have to finish. And for the most part, the defense looks better than it has the past couple years.
Get healthy! Go Apps!
Let’s go beat “OFF”!

We just need enough to win the sun belt. What’s up with these bad faith arguments comparing us to these power leagues?Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 14, 2025 7:22 pmHelp me understand exactly how some of you big NIL proponents believe it would work at App. How much money would it take (theoretically) to get us to whatever plateau is expected here. Go back and read numerous complaints and comments. Hardly anyone speaks of simply wanting to win the Sunbelt. My question really isn’t intended to be a comparison but to ask how exactly spending a ton of extra cash for players will make things that much better. The portal will still exist so the high priced players have to come from somewhere. Personally I think we should be able to equip a roster like a normal G5 and yes compete for the conference.
