Camping?

Unread post by Jb70235 » Wed Sep 14, 2016 8:26 am

Couldn't find a decent place to stay near Boone so my wife and I decided to camp. We decided to stay Friday and Saturday night. Anyone doing the same?

I own land by the old fire tower at the top of the mountain overlooking the stadium just up the ridge overlooking Howard's Knob. It's got firewood from me clearing out the view. Good view looking North at Tater Hill, Snake Mtn, and Elk Knob. Lots of flat spots for tents. It's about 5 minutes to King Street and NEVER any traffic! You're welcome to use it for free. PM me if you're interested. I'm 70% sure I'll be camping there too.

I got a large group and we are renting a cabin. Very nice cabin, and comes to about $80 per person for both nights. Hotel prices are outrageous. Camping doesn't sound like a bad idea though. I will have to consider that for the future.

We are staying at the honey bear as well. Man staying up near the fire tower would have been awesome!

I like flintlock, nice folks, used to stay out there lots on game weekends. I was by the creek one night when it came a serious flash flood. I looked out at daylight and the creek was just barely still in the banks. Not a good feeling.

Hopefully its a private lot because cops told us last week anyone sleeping in the school lots outside the hours would be escorted out. I just wanna party it up all night long. #BeattheU

That's a deep creek, up to the banks must have been quite a site and really loud. Sleepless night for sure.

Yea I was in the first site right there at the bridge. The rain hitting the metal roof of the pop up was so loud I could not hear the creek until morning. It was less than a foot from getting out.

It's "adjacent" to a school lot. At least adjacent enough to form a solid argument at 2 in the morning.

Once in a life time chance man. I say you just go for it and issues come up deal with them then. I think it more has to do with who it is purchased from. That is who I guess is liable.

I wish I could talk my wife into camping before a game...imagine how much that would save us just over a couple of games in hotel costs!

Believe me camping was not her idea, but she is a trooper! I had to find somewhere with bathrooms and showers.
