The marketing and branding of App revolves around the block A and it is the most recognizable symbol of App State. That said, I don't see why the traditional Yosef could'nt simply replace the Fisherman unless the pipe is considered politically incorrect (which would be PC BS).

I believe that the pipe is part of the issue. I think we need to stick with the Block A for most everything. It is classic and timeless. I would like to see us drop the Gorton Fisherman all together. We do not need a secondary logo, especially one that is so-called "modernized," but stuck in 1999-2000. If I were King of Appalachian, we would use the Block A for everything, and occasionally break out the "vintage" Yosef officially for alumni/throwback events--while continually letting some merchandise be printed with the old logo.

We need to start a petition to replace the current fisherman logo with the old school logo for good. The vast majority of students and alumni prefer the old logo, and it is obviously bringing in money on the merchandising side for the school. I've had several non-ASU people comment on how awesome the old school Yosef is when I've worn my hat that has it. I don't see USC changing their Trojan logo, or Texas getting rid of the Longhorn logo in favor of something new. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
